Any ideas? I can't find the answer on Jims site but i may be looking in the wrong spot.

I have a shitty assed laptop i use at work that i'd like to run my 2nd licence on...but i don't wanna bother with the 2 hour DL if it won't run.

Thx in advance:)h

He gave suggested system specs in the Q&A. I think he said 128 Megs of RAM, but I don't remember anything else. The Q&A is linked to from the top thread though.

It runs fine on my rickety old Pentium I with 64 MB ram...

On my 1GHZ Celeron with 256MB RAM, the game ran quite slow. I upgraded to a 2GHZ Athlon with 256MB RAM and there is a huge difference.

Or maybe it's Pentium II. Either way, its certainly no faster than 333 kHz.

I'm running it at home on my 266 from 1998. And I can tell with this version that the simmed games are quicker than FOF4. It takes a little while when starting up a career using an import file, but besides that there aren't that many problems.

Glad to hear this. My brother has a crappy little laptop that is his only computer and I really want to get him this game for Christmas... :)

Incidentally, this and FOF4 are the only games I own where processor speed is making a very big difference. My desktop is 1.5GHz, 512 MB Ram, and laptop is 2.4GHz, 512 MB Ram. With most games, I can tell virtually no difference on the two machines, or a very small variance. There is a *substantial* difference with both FOF4 and FOF2004 between the desktop and laptop, however.

Well, yeah, it will make a difference for those of us who sim 20 years at a time on a regular basis :D
