In my second season, during choose play it shows the players with their fictional names, as opposed to their "real" names.

I believe it is actually showing you your opponents names. Which is a noted bug.

Since this is a "noted bug" but I can't find the bug thread ... does this ever repair itself or once it starts happening, does it stick around for good?

Thanks Shorty, I started posting, stopped to watch a little of "Song of the South" with my son, then finished the post. Meaning that I missed the bump until after.
