I'm a longtime addict of FOF and almost as long of a lurker in these boards. But I had a weird bug in a playoff game I just played and wanted to know if anyone else has run into it or knows how to avoid it.
In the playoff game I just finished I didn't have a single defensive starter play a down. All of my offensive starters played their usual plays, and apparently all of my opponent's starters played on both offense and defense. I was watching the play-by-play (although not calling my plays), and noticed that it was goofy right away. After an excruciating overtime loss a quick glance at my box score confirmed that not a single down was played by a starter. I hadn't changed anything from the game plan I'd been using all year and this didn't happen in any other game. My willingness to play with injuries was set at a neutral 50, and due to a general lack of depth most of the starters had their playing time set at either 6 or 7. I also know that none of them were nursing any injuries as only my offensive linemen were hurt (and they played ironically most of the game and rather well).
This was absolutely crippling for a team that relied on a physical and crushing defense to win. While I don't think I had a chance at the Super Bowl I would've at least liked to have a chance to win a game or two first. ARRGH!!
Has anyone else run into this, and are there any suggestions how to avoid this in future seasons???
