For those of us who enjoy turn-based strategy games and saw the information on the game Silent Storm, I just want to give a heads-up that GoGamer (www.gogamer.com) is selling the English import version for $39.90. The official US release of the game isn't scheduled until January. I'm thisclose to ordering it tonight.

Order it, outstanding game.
I ordered it from GoGamer a few weeks ago, unfortunatley I haven't put a whole lot of time into it due to a huge influx of games recently.
It's easily the best TB Tactical game since Jagged Alliance 2, it's just a very well done game. We had a thread earlier talking about, had some good info.
Anyway, I highly recommend buying it if you're a fan of JA or X-Com, I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
If I could stop playing FOF2k4 and Gothic 2 I'd get back to it.
EDIT: Ok I'm a moron, I completely ignored the 2nd post where you said you ordered it. :)
Well, anywho...that being the case, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

definite game of the year contender. although there are a bunch of other neat games out soon.
There was a mission where my team was trapped inside a house and needed to fight there way out. Every time I sent someone to search upstairs he would get mowed down by the Nazi guarding the staircase, so I had my scout listen to hear where the enemy was, my machine gunner blasted a hole in the ceiling, the enemy then fell through the hole down to the first floor and I finished him off with a pistol shot to the head.
Definitely a fun game.

To update my previous post on another thread...

There are ways to edit the config, autoexec, and input files within the game to improve some of the game's shortcomings. It is possible to save on Impossible mode, and enemy AI is dramatically better using both Impossible mode and the "AP cost to access inventory" option. This makes the game MUCH more "hairy".
For help with making these types of changes, or for mods or other help with the game, check this site...

UPDATE:
Originally released in Europe last fall, Silent Storm has now gone gold for the US market and will be placed in retail stores by Encore later this month. Developed by Nival Interactive, Silent Storm is a 3D turn-based tactical game set in World War II. Players control either Axis or Allied squads, equipping them with a variety of authentic weaponry and playing through 24 non-linear missions. The game should be available in retail stores early next week.
Outside of the addition of the patch v1.2, no differences between the European and US versions of the game were noted or made available.

I have to admit; the first time I saw this name, I had thought it to be some submarine type game. In any case, since Calis compares it to Jagged Alliance, I might very well dig deeper in my financial hole to acquire this.
In regards to X-Com...for some reason, is that some kind of space simulation bit? Or is that some other game with similar title?
