Who's winning?

I don't think MLS is going to let the Golden Child lose this one. Donovan goes shirtless twice and wins another cup (they already won once, right?)

You guys see the league is expanding four teams in 2005? Didn't they just shut down some teams?

I am looking forward to (and hoping that) soccer starts to take more of a hold in the U.S.

I love that one of the four teams joining the MLS will be Chivas USA. It will apparently be a second club run by Chivas, one of the best clubs in the Mexican league. I don't know how they are playing it, though (if they are planning on using some of their players or what...).

Also, Rochester is joining. Are they a big time A-league team? I got the sense they were preexisting from the article I read.

Anyway, I'm keeping an eye out on the league (which only makes me more bitter about CM03/04 and U.S. leagues :( ).

If I had read it correctly, they were expanding by two teams after next year, and then another two the year after that.

Rochester would be an incredible add for MLS, a Mexican franchise would do well too.

Yeah, according to the article I read (saw it at sigames, Neuq), they delayed the two teams being added next year. They officially announced yesterday that "3-4 teams" would be added in 2005, and Chivas, Oklahoma and one other (Memphis?) were set to join. The speculation is that a fourth team would have to join and that Rochester, as an existing team that was likely to join next year under the previous plan, would be that fourth team.

But no official announcement by MLS about Rochester.

Yes, good find, Ron. Cleveland was the other one. Here's the link that was posted in the official MLS thread at sigames.com.
