Hey all. Used to play this older versions of this game back in the day but quit and was waiting for the multiplayer version. Well it seems its here but I wanted to know how well it works.

Does the game allow any set number of players to play? For example can 3 or 4 people play and than allow the computer to manage the rest of the teams?

Is the game buggy? How well does the multiplayer part of the game function?

thanks in advance.

Yep.

There are absolutely no "showstoppers" in the game. There are a few VERY minor things, but pretty much everything works very well.

Mulitiplayer is a bit clunky. It works good, but there is currently (it will be patched eventually, in the coming months) no HTML output from in the game. However, there is a utility that prints box scores and game logs to HTML. More may come. Once you get the feel for how multiplayer works, it's pretty simple. But it is a bit of a challenge to get started with it.

Thanks for the quick response. So is the game a lot of fun with multiplayer? How is the AI with trades and all? How are the games played? Are they simmed by the commish or what?

I always thought that this game could be king with multiplayer.

No multiplayer has really got rolling yet (most leagues have been waiting for the first patch, which just came out).

The AI is pretty solid when trading with humans, though when trading with other AI teams has been a bit questionable at times though. There are only isolated occurences of this, however, and it doesn't appear to be a major issue.

Yea', weekly files are sent to the commish, who imports them and sims the games. There is no head-to-head playcalling or anything like that.
