I'm still winless in my division...and I need a nice cup win, because this coming weekend I play the division leader, who will probably crush me, like a lobster...

So, I'm playing a team in a home cup match, the team is called the Evil Weasels.

They play a normal 4-4-2, with the two wingbacks, towards middle.

That's it, nothing else...

I just lost my top striker to injury, he's gone for 3 weeks...so four of my strikers played this week...

I'm looking at using the 3-5-2 (poor experience) against this team, and AOW, because I feel that if I play Attack in Middle, I'll be trounced....

I think it's a logical exploitation to use AOW on this team, I have two nice offensive wingers, and my two strikers that I will be using are both passables...

Does this make sense...or am I seeing this wrong...

The guy hasn't changed his formation in the past 5 or 6 games (league or cup)...

Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks

What's his central attack like? Keeping in mind that AoW takes away from your central defense.

Evil Weasels
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: weak
Right Side Defence: excellent
Central Defence: magnificent
Left Side Defence: excellent
Right Side Attack: solid
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: passable

This was a league game which he lost 4-2.

Attacking on the wings seems like a logical choice in this case, especially if you have some players with decent passing skills.

Just hope that your opponent doesn't realize the error of his ways and switch up his club's orientation on you.

My other possibility is to counteract his 4-4-2 with the same 4-4-2, but play the middies offensive.

I was also thinking of using the 4-4-2 with 3 middies and one winger.

Any thoughts?

It seems to me that playing the second option would be going right against the teeth of their defense. I think that, no matter which formation you decided upon, you'd want to make sure you had offensive wingers, and attack on the sides as much as possible rather than right up the gut.

Magnificent is far superior to excellent. I'd definitely attack on the wings.

Playing your inner middies offensively will help your wing offense, too.
