Has anybody successfully shared a universe between two or more machines? My main computer, plato, is upstairs, but I occasionally play FOF on my wife's wireless laptop, aristotle. I configure both machines for file sharing, and share my fof directoy on plato as FOF2k4. Then, on aristotle, I mount the FOF2k4 share as my S:\ drive. Finally, I edit the following registry key to point to <b>"S:\"</b>:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2004\Full Path

Problem is when I run the game from aristotle, I get the following error: "A data file shipped with the game missing"

Any ideas? Does it matter that plato is XP while aristotle is ME?

The FOF series is very particular about that universe folder. What I would do is backup the universe folder on the laptop to a temp folder. Install FOF on your computer to the S: drive, and then copy the contents of out backed up universe folder into the newly installed universe folder. Do not replace the folder, just the contents inside. I won't guarantee this works, but that would be my best guess.

You've just answered my question. The Full Path key should be set to "S:" rather than "S:\". Thanks! ;)
