The Top Five:
I have decided to do something new. Not new in idea, but new for the game. I will follow the careers of the top recruit at each position (unless they declare for the draft) and report on their games and actions. Each year, I will add one new recruit, which will be the top recruit in the nation, regardless of position that doesn’t declare for the draft.
July, 2003
PG:
Booker Davis: To start the month of July his top 5 list is Kansas, Texas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Cincinnati.
SG:
Joseph Ho: To start the month of July his top 5 list includes Maryland, Duke, Cincinnati, Florida, and Indiana.
SF:
Scott Perez: His top 5 list for July includes Indiana, Maryland, Florida, Texas, and Syracuse.
PF:
Jeremy Munson: Stanford, Arizonna, UCLA, Kansas, and Oklahoma round out his top 5
C:
Tony Brown: Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, Illinois, and Maryland are his top 5.
August, 2003
PG:
Booker Davis changes his top 5 a bit with UConn topping the list followed by Cincy, Duke, St. Johns, and Kansas. No team offers him a scholarship as of now.
SG:
Joseph Ho also changes up his top 5 with Maryland on top, followed by Oklahoma St. Florida, Duke, and Cincy.
SF:
Scott Perez does the same thing with changes and Arizona leads the list followed by Stanford, Indiana, Syracuse and Cincinnati.
PF:
Jeremy Munson follows suit and places UCLA on top with Oklahoma, Arizona, Illinois, and Stanford rounding out the top 5.
C:
Tony Brown as figured with high school kids changes his mind and places Florida on top with Duke, Kentucky, Oklahoma and finally Kansas.
September, 2003
PG:
Booker Davis still has no offers but Duke has inched their way up to the top of the list on his report.
SG:
Joseph Ho hasn’t been offered yet either, but Oklahoma St. now rules his list. Ho also now does not qualify in the classroom and will be re-evaluated later on.
SF:
Scott Perez hasn’t been offered but Syracuse jumps from 5, to 4, to the #1 team on his list.
PF:
Jeremy Munson still loves UCLA but hasn’t been offered yet.
C:
Tony Brown doesn’t qualify in the classroom either and surprisingly out of nowhere, Miami jumps to the top of his list.
October, 2003
PG:
Booker Davis finally gets some offers from Duke and Cincinnati who are #1, and #2 on his list.
SG:
Joseph Ho gets an offer from Alabama who jumps to the top of the list for him. He still doesn’t qualify in the classroom yet.
SF:
Scott Peres decides he is too good to go to college and declares for the NBA. His replacement on the top of the list is…
SF:
Joey Barker who is offered a scholarship from Illinois (#1) and St. Bonaventure (#2).
PF:
Jeremy Munson is offered a scholarship from UCLA who has been at the top of his list for a couple months now.
C:
Tony Brown still doesn’t qualify but he gets an offer from Miami and Notre Dame. What? Notre Dame offers this kid a schollie???

Cool! I'll definitely be following.
Would be REALLY neat if you picked back up on the failed-to-qualify guys when they re-enter the pool as JUCO's two years down the line.

12-02-2003, 10:21 PM
Alright, i will try to do that and make a note to look out for them. What i am doing now is simming the rest of 2003 out then i will start reporting on each of these guys and their games. I will add another recruit each year (just one). Any other things anyone wants to see i will do that.

Will you be following these guys into the NBA?
hollmt

unfortuantely i cant, as i dont have HRs pro game. if someone wants to do that, i can save the output of the players if someone wants to carry on with them.

Yea' - save the files. Depending on how fast you go, I should be able to follow them. If you go really fast and get guys into the NBA before December 15th or so, I won't be able to (finals, and then a 20-hour drive home). Even so, I could do it, although a little bit backlogged.

Well the recruiting rankings come out and Illinois tops the list but Joey Barker was not their prize recruit.
Duke comes in third with Booker Davis being their prize recruit as expected.
UCLA and Jeremy Munson come in the 5th spot.
Maryland and Joseph Brown come in at #8.
North Carolina and Denver Ring come in at 12.
Booker Davis is behind a Senior and Junior at his position. Neither of the 2 started any games last season though. It will be interesting to see if he can win a starting job or not.

Im not really sure why all these schools had so many freshman coming in. I took a look around and quite a bit of schools were doing this. I thought this got fixed earlier but maybe it is just an abnormality for a few of these teams. I dunno.

I think HR said that teams start with few scholarships already handed out, so players and the AI can customize their teams. That's why you're seeing so many frosh.

July, 2004
To start the season we take a look at the #1 recruit in the country. Playing at the SF position:
Delbert Lilly who has a top 5 list UCLA, Kansas, Duke, Texas and Arizona.
August, 2004
Delbert’s list changes a bit with Texas jumping up to #1 followed by UCLA, Maryland, Arizona and then Duke.
September, 2004
Delbert has yet to receive an offer but UCLA is back at the top of his list followed by Maryland, Texas, Duke and lastly…North Carolina sneaks in there.
October, 2004
Wow! Delbert has 5 scholarship offers. They include UCLA at the top of his list, followed by North Carolina, Maryland, Tennessee, and finally Texas.
Delbert is from Arkansas, so there is no telling what this kid will do.
November, 2004
For some reason Texas drops out of the running and is replaced on the list by Temple who did not offer Delbert a scholarship.

Well the season finally kicks off for our new fab 5!
This will be the players report for games played up to 11/21/04.
Booker Davis didn’t step foot on the court to start the season opener against Bradley that Duke won big, however he did finally get a good amount of playing time in the 2nd game against a much tougher Michigan St. team that Duke also won. . Duke played him at the SF position in this game and Davis performed pretty well.
Player Pos Min Fgm-a Ftm-a Off Reb Ast PF Pts
Booker Davis SF 6 2-2 2-2 0 1 0 2 8
Davis did commit 3 turnovers in his 6 minutes of play though but also stole the ball 2 times and was 2-2 from beyond the arc. Not a bad game to start off his career. He is averaging 9 minutes a game with 5 points to go along with that. (#2 Duke 2-0)
Joseph Browns first game is in the season opener against Mississippi in a 2 point loss.
Player Pos Min Fgm-a Ftm-a Off Reb Ast PF Pts
Joseph Brown SG 7 1-3 0-0 0 0 1 1 2
Game 2 finds Brown playing a bit more in yet another 2 point loss against Villanova.
Player Pos Min Fgm-a Ftm-a Off Reb Ast PF Pts
Joseph Brown SG 11 1-4 0-0 0 2 1 0 2
Game 3 finds Brown playing in yet another loss this time to Auburn.
Player Pos Min Fgm-a Ftm-a Off Reb Ast PF Pts
Joseph Brown SG 11 0-3 0-0 0 1 0 1 0
So far Brown is averaging 9.7 min a game with a bit over a point per game. He isn’t shooting to well and is not finding a good shot. (#22 Maryland 0-3)
Joey Barker is red-shirting this season for Illinois.
Jeremy Munson for UCLA has won a starting job at the Center position. Not a bad gig for a kid from Sandy, UT.
Game #1 Munson plays in the butt-kicking against Central Connecticut.
Player Pos Min Fgm-a Ftm-a Off Reb Ast PF Pts
Jeremy Munson C 20 2-3 1-3 2 5 3 5 5
Game #2 UCLA falls by a point to UNLV.
Player Pos Min Fgm-a Ftm-a Off Reb Ast PF Pts
Jeremy Munson C 19 2-3 0-0 0 2 0 4 4
Game #3 comes with a big win against Hawaii.
Player Pos Min Fgm-a Ftm-a Off Reb Ast PF Pts
Jeremy Munson C 26 5-7 3-4 2 8 1 1 13
Game #4 finds yet another butt kicking this time against Santa Clara.
Player Pos Min Fgm-a Ftm-a Off Reb Ast PF Pts
Jeremy Munson C 35 1-1 4-4 0 5 1 3 6
So far Munson is contributing pretty nicely with 25 minutes a game and 7 ppg and 5 rpg. (#5 UCLA 3-1)
Denver Ring and North Carolina have yet to play a game. They tip off on 11/22 against Richmond.

ok...i have an opinion...scrap this one.
instead of doing 5 players right off the bat i will do just the top recruit of the season who doesnt declare for the draft. each year ill just add a new kid to the mix.
RPI-Fan...i will still output the draft classes for you if if you want to take each recruit as he goes to the NBA...if he goes to the NBA.
