I'm considering buying an ATI TV Wonder Card so I can record tv on my pc. However, does anyone here have any suggestions as to the best and least expensive way to watch those recorded programs on my television in another room? I know squat about wireless networking, but that appears to be the only option.

So far, I've learned I would need to buy a router, a wireless access point, and a digital media adapter. Sounds like a lot of stuff, and it sounds like this may not be a cheaper alternative to Tivo after all. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Thanks.

You can always burn what u record and watch it on a DVD player, they play video CD's as well.

That would work, but then I'd be burning cds/dvds all the time just to watch Law and Order.

couldn't you just save a few on your HD and then burn them all at once... A DVD can hold about 4-5 high quality episodes.

If you have any experience with Linux you can take a look at Freevo

Freevo (http://freevo.sourceforge.net/)

Its a PC based dvr solution.
