TCY 1.2a patch question

this was probably addressed elsewhere, and i know the latest tcy patch was very minor, but do we need to start a new career to utilize the fix, or will it go into effect for a current career, too?

Since it was just one minor change to the depth chart AI, I'm quite certain it will work fine with old careers.
