I've had an unfortunate incident with my computer. One of my boot files became corrupted, and I tried to fix it without having to reload the operating system. It didn't work, so I had to reload Windows XP.

As a result, some of my documents were lost. FOF2004 is still loaded, but it somehow became unlicensed. Also, my Microsoft Outlook e-mail files have all vanished, so I don't even have the license info anymore.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Thanks.

Contact Via-Tech (http://www.elicense.com/contact.asp) via email listed on this page and as long as you have "proof of purchase" (email addy, billing addy, etc) they will reset the lost license and send you the info you need. I've had it happen many times, one day a month or so ago twice in one day and they had me good to go in no time.

Thanks. Vic:

I had just about an identical problem this summer. It is a royal pain. You MAY have lost everything in Outlook. Do a search for "outlook.pst". If that file is dated after the XP reload, you're screwed on the e-mail files.

Viatech hooked a brutha up on all the stuff that got unlicensed though, and I didn't have all of my order ID's. I think they tracked them down via my e-mail address. Thumbs-up to them for customer service (although they clearly need more bandwidth...)

I had to re-install just about everything, but nearly all data files were still present. The only significant loss (besides a good chunk of time) was the aforementioned Outlook e-mail issue.
