Fielder is banged up again to boot...
Both teams are up against it no matter which makes it in...

But it is far better if the Dolphins do not make it in at all. I believe that would seal Wanny's fate...

Which ever of the two teams make it in will more than likely have to go to Indy to play my Colts in the first round.

I dont think the season is necessarily Wanny's fault. Although he and Turner have done nothing to help matters. The fact is that the offensive line is one of the worst in the NFL and its killing both the running and the passing game.

Is that Peyton's choke round this year, or is it the second round?

Look what Belicheck has done with a consistently banged up team, and look what Wanny has done with a relatively injury free team. The guy can't coach, and he should have been fired long ago.

I think the fundamental difference between Tom Brady and Jay Fiedler/Brian Griese have a lot to do with it, although Belicheck is definately a much better coach.

It awsnt Peyton missing field goals, dropping passes, or allowing 30+ points in the other playoff games. This year is different in that his team wont fall apart around him. The wont go out in the first round this year.
It wasnt him that choked yesterday, now was it?

The Colts are a tad different with Freeney and Doss on defense. One thing is for certain...there will be immense pressure on Manning and the Colts to win a playoff game...

True. They dont have an excuse, especially since it appears they will have their first playoff game at home.

Don't know who choked yesterday (or care for that matter). I'll worry about it if there is anything interesting going on at the dome next month.

You sound a bit bitter. Which last place team are you a fan of? Or are you a Titans fan still reeling from geting beat at home by Peyton and the rest of the chokers. If you dont care you shouldnt have evne brought it up.

I'll start reading when you start thinking. You asked a question about yesterday and I answered it with a note that I didn't care about yesterday. I'm sure I'll find the Colt's performance in the playoffs amusing and will at that point care. Before you work yourself into a stroke coming up with a response I will tell you that I am done with this thread. I'm not going to waste time debating a soon to be non-local team's ability to play under pressure. I hope they win the the Superbowl and if they do so feel free to gloat in a pm.

Peyton Manning+Tony Dungy=Choke :)
Some people argue that there is no such thing as clutch performers, but I don't believe this. Nomar is not clutch, Roger Clemens is not clutch and neither are Peyton or Dungy. The 41-0 loss to the Jets only made it more obvious.

yeah, and early in Favres career every pass = INT. I enjoy everyone overlooking my team. The titans did twice this year and we see what happened to them. Besides, if we still cared about what happened last year why arent there any Raiders and Buccs fans on here bragging.
BishopMVP
12-08-2003, 06:08 PM
Who knows, maybe they'll turn the corner one day, maybe even this year. I just wouldn't bet on it.
I'm sure if you start talking shit to Raiders/Bucs fans they'll bring up the fact they were in the Super Bowl last year and the Colts weren't, but I don't really think something like the Pats going 3 times in the past 20 years while Indianapolis has never made it was very relevant to whether the current players are choke artists.

I am just pointing out that it doesnt mean shit what happened last year, to any team. Last year is just that, last year. If you want to keep bringing up the "we were there last year" argument, it wont work unless you go every year. nless you want to end up like Steelers fans, who broke out the bellbottoms and butterfly collar shirts because although they suck this year they we great in the 70's. I have seen the Colts win games this yaer that in previous years the would have rolled over and lost. Even in the 3 losses we have we were in the game with a chance to win until the very end. I never started this thread talking any shit. You just jumped on the bandwagon that someone else started. See my previous post for what I think of that.

I didn't jump on a bandwagon. If you look at the current thread talking about the Pats game, you'll see I made snide comments about the Colts choking in the playoffs before this thread started.

To take an example from that thread, the Dolphins always lose in December @ NE (when NE is decent). I believe this has happened enough that I consider it a factor in looking at the game. Along these lines, I believe Peyton Manning has not stepped up in enough big games and Tony Dungy's teams have choked enough in the playoffs to be considered a factor in the future.

Heh. Had to come back and see the response I knew you would post. First off I am by no means a native of Indy, I was born in CT.
Secondly, I hope they move. I would get a kick out of the idiots who would cry over it. Just like I will when they choke in the playoffs.

Pathetic? You are the one that has had to resort to name calling and making assinine assumptions in response to a fairly common perception expressed about the Colts, and when I said I was done you still had to continue. Sorry I didn't stay away and let your imagined triumph about why i would possibly say the Colts choke slide by. If you didn't want a flame war then maybe you shouldn't have tried to start one. As far as leaving other teams alone I seem te recall some comment about the Steelers. It is moronic fans like you that keep me laughing when the Colts choke and hoping they move out of the town I live in.

I think there was a study that showed that "clutch" players averages don't improve in clutch situations, but rather that their averages stay the same as in non-clutch situations, whereas some other player's averages go down when the game is on the line. In other words, some guys choke more often, instead of some guys magically raising their game in key situations.

That second sentence is directed at me right? If saying a team chokes is calling it a name, then saying they suck certainly is.
As for being pissy, you are the one who has spent the better part of a thread telling me what team I like, where I was born and now apparently my level of education all because your panties went up your ass when I said your team folds under pressure. I'm sorry you can't handle the truth about the Colts, but is that any reason to lie and make yourself look stupid and immature?
What am I supposed to brag about? How ignorant Indy fans are? That would be redundant. You have represented them well in this thread. I'm sure the intelligent fans who can actually have a conversation about the Colts without making stuff up or trying to be a smart ass and forgetting the smart love it when fans like you step up and attempt to defend the Colts. Now you are trying to tell me you need to let me win to end this? I tried to back out of this and wished your suck team well, but YOU had to decide where I was from and make me come back to correct you again. This time I don't see a need to come back to this thread. You have proven that you will make shit up for your responses and I am sure anyone who does read this will take that into account when they read whatever you have to say about me next.
