Yes, as a Packer fan i should hate the man, but as i sit here watching his news conference i once find myself thinking how much i like this guy as a coach. Asked about if the O'Leary hiring by Central Florida as thier head coach would be a distraction, he said "It's only a distraction if you keep asking about it."

He is always so straight forward and pretty honest with what he thinks, and i just like the way he thinks. To bad he coaches the ViQueens.

It must suck having to be more concerned with the Vikes' score than your favorite teams'.

The only knock I have on Tice is his use of the red flag.

Ya, watching the Vikes score sucked yesterday. But the Packers put themselves in that position, so what can you do eh? Should have won against Arizona, in Detroit, against Philly, and probably against K.C., but they didn't and they will probably pay for it now if the Vikings keep winning.

I think i am starting to question my own coach some, and thats why i am admiring Tice some. Sherman is starting to bug me this year, and i'm just not sure how successful he will be down the road now.

It's also Favre and his thumb. Those turnovers are killers...

My only knock on him is that although I like his aggressiveness in play calling, he can go a bit over board at times (going for it against St. Louis when down 17 I'd thought was a bad call from the time they sent the offense back out, though it doesn't seem like he has much faith in his kicker right now).

I know the Packers won yesterday, but where the hell was Favre throwing that INT that Chicago returned for a TD? That was HORRIBLE.

Seeing the replay, I believed that he was trying to throw the ball out of bounds. And maybe he got hit as he was trying to release??

Well, all i can say is that is Favre. We won a Superbowl and went to another with that kind of play, and we have missed the playoffs with it. The guy does some wacky things, but it's still pretty damn good to have him as our QB. And i don't think the thumb has much to do with it much any more. The team, including Favre, just are not playing up to what they should, and are very inconsistent the last two years under Sherman as far as being up for games, and their focus.

Tice seems to get a lot out of guys, and i have the feeling that the players LOVE playing for this guy. Not just like, or are indifferent towards the coach, but really like the guy. As far as questionable calls, every coach is going to have those.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that was Jared Lorenzen against UF. That was a rookie throw. No one who is going to be in the HoF and has been playing as long as Favre should ever throw a pass like that. there's no justification for it. At worst, he should have tried to throw it out of bounds to the near-side, but frankly, he should have just eaten it.

He did something else in that game that made me shake my head as well, I just can't remember what it was.

That's true about Farve but those teams overall seemed to have more talent. You'd guess a veteran like him that realizes the situation could be a better protector of the ball. Obviously you wouldn't yank him or anything but I am a bit bewildered he has never developed even a little more discipline.

Tice is good for those young guys...we'll see what he's made of when the chips are down. Something hints at him unraveling...
