Coach of the Year:
- Eric Downs of Vanderbilt has been named Coach of the Year for his performance this past season. His 4th trophy.

Team Management :
- Jones, Magee & O’Donnell want more free time & Terry loses relationship. Too bad guys, play football first !
- Joel Jones, a wide receiver, has been made academically ineligible for the upcoming season for failing a class (his 2nd suspension in 4 years…). We will play without our best WR again this year.
- Grant Krieger, a fullback, has left your team because of a lack of playing time.
- Tyrus Talley, a quarterback, has left your team because of a lack of playing time.

Didn’t check them before turning into new season. I guess we won’t miss Krieger. Talley, was an interesting prospect though (with 78 potential).

Hall of Fame inductions :
- 13 inductees

Coach Movement :
- 4 teams hire coaches from other schools

Key Indicators:
Academic Reputation: 57 (36th) => note is degrading, but overall range is improving.
Prestige: 65 (23rd) => declining a bit fillowing 2 mediocre seasons.

Talley was a long shot that we were suprised to get, we didn't have any need for another QB, and he would be behind Ogden for three years at least. Would be interesting if he turned up elsewhere though. Can TCY players do that?

Edit: by posting this thread, we've now broken Quiksand's record for most seasons played in a FOFC dynasty (we already have the record for longest-running dynasty in actual time). Yay! \o/

Yay! \o/ Cool !

As for Talley, I suspect he declared early for the draft, I have the FOF5 generated draft file to check. I can send it to you if you want !

Staff hiring

Emails :
- the 4 previous coach less teams hire new ones.

Previous Seasons staff moves :
2042 : none
2041 : none
2040 : NE
2039 : MW, Def Coord

Meaning I can change : Syndicate Coord, Off Coord, MA, GL, SE, DS, SW, NW. According to TCY helper, GL scout is our biggest need, although hthere is a brilliant Off Coord available might check.

I know this is against our house-rules, but seeing that we did not hire new guys the two previous seasons, I decide to hire both the GL scout and the Off Coordinator. I just couldn’t pass up this Terrific Offensive Coordinator. Our previsou guys were getting old (GL scout was 72, and off coord was 62).

New Great Lakes Scout :Eric Russel (34)
QB : Decent
RB : Pretty Good
Rec : Very Good
OL : Very Good
PK : Very Good
DL : Fair
LB : Excellent
DB : Good

New Offensive Coordinator :Corey Sing (44)
Play Calling : Very Good
Injury Avoidance : Very Good
Rehabilitation : Very Good
Congeniality : Very Good
QB : Excellent
RB : Terrific
Rec : Terrible (only weakness)
OL : Excellent
PK : Excellent

Well, that’s our 3rd kicker specialist. We should be OK there now ;)

Top priority : RB, FB, TE, G
Future need : QB, C, T, DE, DT, ILB,CB, S

Our Game : #19 Indiana (5-1) at #7 Northwestern (7-0) (-11) on TV1
They are a pure running team and prove it straight away, but we are the first ones to score thanks to QB Ogden and TE Bernreuter : 7-0. At the end of Q1, we have 90 passing yards and they have 70 rushing yards… shows you where our respective strengths are ! We manage to score a FG, but their machine starts running and they score twice before halftime : 10-14. The second half is a painful one as I don’t even remember us converting a series and getting a single first down… Check score below.

Game Summary

Indiana 7 3 0 0 - 10
Northwestern 0 14 10 20 - 44

Well, we are favourites, but since it is my first TCY game since February (4 months ago), anything can happen. I didn’t touch any Game plan settings, just moved the depth charts due to injuries.

1st drive, 1st punt. Not a good start. However, after a couple of punts exchange, Ogden & company found the endzone again : 7-0 lead. Ogden then threw an interception, but our defense stands still and we we get the ball back, QB Ogden finds WR Aikens with a long pass for his 2nd TD : 14-0. We then block a punt and Ogden completes to Aikens again for our 3rd TD : 21-0. Just before halftime, RB Barnes scores one after another excellent Ogden drive : 28-0. Quick Sim half 2 => game ends : 38-10.

Bleh, on the following kickoff they return it to base for a 14-7 lead. And we finish Q1 with a 7-21 deficit as they scored on the ground…. 35-7 at halftime. Quick sim time. Sorry. And dang Ogden strikes staright away on a long bomb. 7-0 (and we jus tsaw 2 plays). We force a punt, but Ogden is intercepted and they score 3 pts. 7-3. But the machine strikes quickly back again. 14-7 oon another Ogden TD pass. 14-10 at the end of Q1. Where are the defenses ? After a Purdue TD, we then score on an interception to still lead 21-17. After a few horrible plays by both sides, we make a late int and score a TD before halftime. 28-17.

Indeed 3ric, I will do that. But I just can't remember what I have to upload. Should I just zip the content of the Universe directory ?

3ric
09-26-2005, 10:35 AM
Yes, from the universe folder include one *.fga file, one *.frc file and all the frfoot.* files. It's possible you'll see more than one fga or frc file, in that case you may have to look at the date of the file.

Way to go, Kodos! That's exactly what I needed, Alf and 3ric being too occupied playing TCY to care about their IHOF teams. ;)

There should be more dynasties out there. Can't you bump dynasties from Chubby, Celeval, KWhit, Primelord, Darkiller, Senator, Buzzbee, Warhammer, HFP and Dutch? (Yeah, I let out SkyDog, he seems already to busy with his dynasties, and i left out myself as bumping my only worthy dynasty would not help you win the AOC. ;))

Barnes started full time in his second year and has been rotating ever since we got O’Donnell. Will be missed a bit indeed.

Fruth lacked the run block skills I would have preferred but started half his games here.

Rheams is a 2 year starter who looks average. Hoping we can improve this position in the future.

Bensen was a project and never developed unfortunately.

Harden is like Rheams, a starter by default. We hopefully won’t miss him.

Riley was our 4 years punter, and Big10 punter this season. Our 3 kicking recruits should help us move on

Compton was a deep backup and a nice student.

I guess Hawkins was just a student recruit (he looks so lousy)

Same for Curtis

Shuran lack Run Defnse for a DT. Never started a game for us.

Benson was a 2 seasons starter and a moderate passs rush force. Not a great star either.

Derubeis was also very green and never developed.

Mueller looks like another student athlete.

Same for Wilson

Howe started only 2 years, but looks like a prefect cover Corner. I guess we’ll miss him

Blummer is another star leaving (only starting one year though). A hole in the defense.

Ward won’t be missed. Academic player.

So here is a nearly 2 years old (12-22-2003, 09:00 AM) started dynasty thread that finally comes to an end of season :)

Hurray ! Thanks Kodos for the mega bump on this dynasty !
