Entering week 17, we had two 3-12 teams (SD and Ariz), and five 4-11 teams (Oak, Det, Clev, Atl, NYG). Oak and SD are tied, and Ariz is leading in the first half. Det, Clev, and Atl already won. The Giants were down 20-0, but have scored 10 to get back in the game.

We could end up with four 4-12 teams and six 5-11 teams. Coming into the weekend, SD (.508) had a slight "lead" over Oak (.513) in SOS. Each team only played two uncommon opponents, and each pair went 1-1, so SD should win that tiebreaker. The Chargers would easily win the tiebreaker over the Cardinals and Giants.

Apparently the Raiders' offense and defense wants it, but not their special teams. They'd be down 14-0 if not for a KR and PR for touchdowns.

edit: here's the draft order as of the end of last week. http://www.gbnreport.com/2004draftorder.htm

Arizona realized they might actually win and forgot how to play again.

SD takes the lead again. Arizona is looking like #1.

This is officially the first time I have ever hoped the Raiders lose. It is killing me, but I am hoping a higher draft pick can make a huge difference this year. I am hoping for a qb that can win many more in the next decade or more and make up for this miserable season. My motto: The manure of this season may fertilize many winning seasons in the future.

For the record I am actually hoping for Ben over Eli, but would not be unhappy with either.

I can't believe Arizona came back and won!

I wouldn't take Manning's brother...I'd rather have Vick's, Bailey's, or Holt's (waitaminnit...two of those guys are on the Lions)

It was a good day for the Raiders. I felt like I was in the bizarro universe, hoping the Raiders would lose to a division rival and actually caring whether Arizona won or lost.
