Gameplan question

Okay, so I'm setting up my gameplan, and I'm just curious -- if you're inside your opponent's three, is it ever first and 8-10? Does that box just not matter?

I just don't get why when you hit 'recommend', the computer suggests something for those boxes. What are those suggestions based on?

Not only that, but part of me worries that if it's first and goal at the 3, the gameplan migh think it's first and 10 at the 3 -- only because I've seen lesser games that think that.
