I was pleased the other day to get 47th place of almost 400 in a freeroll tourney online (of course).
Someone replied that it was no big deal because you can click "Post and Fold" (fyi, that means you play no hand the entire tourney) and get that good a result.
So, I did, twice.
I entered 2 tourneys, NL hold 'em, and did nothing. The results:
Tourney 1: 101 of 377
Tourney 2: 63 of 390
The difference was, in the 2nd try, I got lucky twice at the end with all in for antes and won to stay alive.
The moral is, you can, if you are lucky, get a good showing by not being there :), but obviously not THAT good.
