In my current FOF4 draft the first 2 picks were RBs. The odd thing is that they both signed 6 year contracts, but the second pick has a higher base salary each season and a higher signing bonus than the first pick. Anyone else ever noticed this?

When you do 'rookie negotiation' you have 4 options for first round picks.

The first two are usually for 5 years and the next two for 4 years.

Of the first two, the initial one has a higher salary overall.

The likelyhood of the rookie accepting the cheaper contract depends on the agent.

If the first overall pick has a shitty agent, that could explain your scenario.

1st overall pick accepted 1st rookie negotiation offer.
2nd overall pick didn't and forced the more expensive option (that still allowed for same years as 1st overall)

If he's talking about FOF4, you don't have options for rookies, they just get signed.

I've also found in FOF2k4 that agent's negociating skills don't matter as much as one thinks. Had a 1st round CB (good probable ratings) turn down the same contract 5-6 times for a computer controlled team (he never signed and re-entered the draft) - his agent had a low stubborn neg. rating of (12)?
