FOF2004: Why are some players ghosted?

I'm in week five. I've clicked on contract renegotiation of several players and noticed that some players have the option to renegotiate "ghosted". I can see the numbers, just can't change anything or offer a new contract. There are no designations on these players.

Is this just an indication that they are unwilling to renegotiate or am I missing something?

I believe those are players who you have just signed/re-signed that season. A player will only sign one contract per season, whether it's a new deal, a renegotiation, or a "cap-out" offer.

Ok. That makes sense. It was right after the allocation draft, so that's what was confusing me.
