Is there anyone else that would like to one day play in the WSOP? I know that vegas vic is pretty good at poker, but im not certain if he has ever thought about entering. I think we have a few good players here, that might make a good run at the WSOP. Even though I have never really played poker for money, I still think it would be quite fun to play in an event like the WSOP

It's definitely something I would like to do after I have secured my millions and can afford to be dead money.
Someone asked me what the first thing I would do if I won that 150 million dollar lotter is, I told them plop down $10,000 for me and my friends to play in the main event of the WSOP.

Of course I'd like to play in the WSOP. I would also like to one day be able to afford to enter the WSOP. :)

I've considered entering the lower level Omaha events, or the Razz event. As for any other events, I'm simply outclassed. I doubt I'll ever play in the main event, simply because I don't play Hold 'Em that much.

I seriously have been thinking of joining some satelites for the WPT. I might just try when the WSOP comes around.

There is a bar here in Baltimore which has run a couple of satellites recently, and it's like a damned feeding frenzy up there. They put up one entry into the WSOP (the $10,000-entry NL hold em tournament) along with $20,000 cash as their grand prize, and they are getting something like 600 people paying $500 an entry to play for it. They are doing this as a fundraiser, and are taking a whopping 2/3 cut for the cause. (I have no problems with charity, I'd just rather direct my charity myself, thanks)
I honestly think that if they were just offering a $30,000 cash pricze, without the WSOP entry and its cash value instead, they would be geting maybe 1/3 the interest.
I'm sure that in the months ahead, we'll start seeing WSOP satellites become all the rage both in the online community, as well as in various B&M locations.

QS: do you plan to play in this event?
It seems to me like they are making alot of dough off this event.

Airhog: What QS is implying is that he can go to Atlantic City and find a tournament like that one with a cash prize, and play it for the 99% payout they probably offer (or some cheap buy-in fee).
The "entry" in the WSOP is nothing special. It's not like they run out of spots.
