View Full Version : Stinking UT VOLS
Uggh, they're making me sick.
Way to go Burnett. Hit him late, and then let him know you want to him him late again later on.
Don't get me started on Clausen.
Great, I was wondering when we'd get our next personal foul!

Is it about time for James Banks to be put back at QB? He is an Indiana native, and I haven't heard too much about him this year besides when he caught his first touchdown pass. Is he still productive at WR or what?

They are making a fool out of themselves on national TV.
Rough the kicker....rough the kicker
rats, an opportunity wasted.
Burnett's back in. Let the personal fouls rain down.

As I've been telling my wife for several seasons now ... when you recruit too many thugs/wanna-be thugs, this is what goes with it.
Granted, Clemson doesn't exactly appear to be stocked with too many choir boys either, but this is another low point for college football in general.
It's almost enough to make me want to switch teams...after 15 years. Almost. I did get a boat load of UT stuff for Christmas this year.
The only good thing about today is that once this game is finally over I'm going to watch UT beat FSU in the 1999 Fiesta Bowl on DVD.

While I'm on the subject ...
1) Thank goodness, no more Claussen
2) That said, this is what happens when you cannot run the football.
A UT trademark for years, it's not much more than a fond memory at this point
3) Randy Sanders should have already been gone, this embarassment should be the final straw. But I doubt it will be.
4) Ditto John Chavis. Replace him with a DC who will actually teach people how to tackle, the most fundamental aspect of the defensive game.
5) Lobby hard to move the SEC Championship game to anywhere other than the Georgia Dome. The last three visits there are approaching the level of House of Horrors.
Then again, absent at least some combination of points 2/3/4, that may not be a worry any time soon.

1. I agree. I think we had to simplify our offense for Clausen. Great numbers overall, but with Tee Martin we ran a more complicated offense, in my opinion.
2. I agree, but as of the past 10 years, our ability to run has been off again and on again. With Cobb and Webb, we ran well...but early in Manning's career we had no running game. With Lewis, Henry, and Stephens we started having success again. I'm disappointed in this group of backs. A few seasons ago, it was a major coup to get Houston, Davis, Tinsley and then Riggs. We didn't even really care that we lost out on Cadillac Williams....well, I think we care now.
3. I agree, again! Sanders has been nothing but horrible. Even his first game the, aforementioned Fiesta Bowl, was a pretty shoddy game. We'd run the ball and throw lobs deep.
4. Don't agree. I like Chavis, and I'll admit at times we look bad tackling...but I think he runs a great defense and it's the only reason we won 8 games last year...we won 8 averaging 17.5 points a game.
5. Amen. Please move the game. :)

Don't have that one. I'm trying to get more games, though. Which one was that?
I thought you'd mention the Southern Miss/UT game.

Hey, you can send that along, too. That was a great game. What a spin!

I wanted every SEC team to win, save two: Florida and Tennessee. I love watching thse two fail.
Jabari Davis is in two Peach Bowls, and lost them both. That is just too funny.

Has any team improved this season more than ClemPson? In watching their opener against Georgia, I thought they would be lucky to win five games. They looked absolutely terrible.
Since they laid down against Wake Forest though, they've been world beaters, dominating FSU and South Carolina and beating up on Tennessee.
Before this season, I was hoping they would keep Tommy Bowden around for a while--because I didn't think he could build a program there. Now, I am not so sure.

Hater. At least I was happy to see Georgia win. The only SEC team I want to lose every week is Florida.

I lived in Clemson for a few years. They're going to be really good next year if Bowden can get them to play consistently. Top 15, I think.
