Have you ever had the pleasure to catch this show? Most likely on your local AM talk station that comes on around 1am EST. Wow, it is one of the best sources of UIC.
(NB - i can use 'UIC' now that I know what it means)

I used to listen to it all the time when Art Bell was in charge. It was really good back then.

HFP, you know that Art Bell is now back doing the weekend shows. Noory is still on during the week, however.

That show is either really great, or really crappy.... I listen to it every once in a while....

Actually no I didn't. I had not listened to it in a while, last time I had Art was doing a weekend show on occasion.
I like Art, even though the subject matter at times borders on the ridiculous, he is a very good interviewer and keeps me interested in whatever he is talking about. Noory put me to sleep and didn't seem to do any research on who or what he was interviewing.
Well that is good news. Thanks Cam.
Edit: I wonder what happened to Ian Punnett. He was pretty good too.

Well Ian Punnett is gone. Art Bell came out of retirement and took over the show. I don't think Art liked the direction the show was taking under Ian's time. Then he retired once again and let George Noory take over the show because he said that George "gets it".
Now Art does the weekend shows full time, not on occasion anymore. His bad back has improved and he itched to get back to the mic.
Huh. I thought I was one of the very few that listened to that show. I agree that most topics border on the ridiculous, but the show is entertaining anyways.

I listen to it heading into work every morning. Some pretty ridiculous stuff on there, but still pretty fun to listen to that early (or late, depending on your point of view).

I listen to this show usually 5 times a week, driving a truck and choosing to drive at night, i know this show well. It is a great show and you hear some interesting stuff (some to be taken serious and some you just need to play along with and get a laugh out of).
To clear some things up, when Art retired the first time (mostly due to the aftermath of his son be abducted and lies being put out about Art about this and other things) the show was taken over by Mike Siegel, with weekends hosted by Ian Punnett. Art came back because, yes, Art did not like what Siegel was doing with the show. Ian Punnett left and has never come back because he was in Seminary school (something like that) and he was going off for some religious work in eastern Kentucky.
Art came back, his back went super crazy, surgery not really an option, so he was pretty muched forced to retire. He hung on until George Noory was groomed for the job a little more. George has done the show on his own for over a year now, and has gotten much better then when he first started. Art came back to do weekends because he just can't really stay away, and his back is getting better with rest and the fact that he lost like 50lbs since he retired.
I still prefer Art, i like his sense of humor much more then Noory's, who sometimes just seems like he is a rather dull guy.
I creep you out with enough info? Like i said, i have listened almost non-stop for 6 years. It is easier to pick up then any other radio show and is always there on the radio......sometimes giving me the creeps as i drive 55 on a twisting, hilly backroad through the woods at 3:00 am.

I remember back wen I was in high school I'd go to bed at 8PM, wake back up a 1AM when Art came on, then stay up and listen until 3 or 4AM while playing the Super Nintendo. Some great memories there :).

Could this be the crazy conspiracy theory show that I would occasionally listen to on the way back from Columbia to Lawrence at midnight or later on Sunday nights? Good for a laugh, that's for sure.

There is no doubt that some of the material is very interesting, but they always ruin it by going too far, IMHO. I'm glad that Art is back, because, the occasions I had to listen to it lately, George's voice would lull me to sleep and that is bad because I would only listen to it while I was driving late at night.
I wonder how many accidents Noory has caused? Should change his name to Snorey. :D

He's working for some Twin Cities station though. He was somewhat interesting on a weekend show on a rather widely listened to AM station, but got moved to some crappy new FM station not that long back.
