View Full Version : Oklahoma & LSU - It's a Big Game, I think?

Tonight, Oklahoma and LSU square off for part of the NC. I almost forgot about the game until a buddie just called me up about it. Since the USC & Michigan game, though, it feels like the college football season is already over. Even in my local paper, the NFL playoffs were getting top billing.

This is why all BCS bowl games should be played on the 1st, maybe the 2nd for the title game.
See my rant on this subject from a few days ago.

It's a shame as tonight's game might be a classic ala last year's OSU vs. Miami. I know alot friends who missed watching that whole game, not because of job or other tasks, but because it never crossed their mind.

I will give credit to the people here in Louisiana, they are going nuts over this game, and I'm not sick of them! Of course, that could change if they win....

It's even worse here in New Orleans. I had to go to Charity Hospital for work a few hours ago (I only had to go in for about an hour) and the traffic was already starting to get heavy around the dome. It's going to be CRAZY in the quarter tonight if LSU wins.. or even if they don't for that matter.

Is Jessica Simpson under contract to sing at every BCS game?

She freakin' can't sing, either. She couldn't win "American Idol."

I have heard and looked at much worse, so I don't think I mind.

I think they should have played this thursday or friday... or saturday afternoon (before the NFL playoffs). At this point, why not wait until Monday Night?
I watched almost the entire USC game, but I'll do nothing more than occassionally glance at this one.

This game looks like its going to be similar to Miami vs. Nebraska 2 yrs ago. Team that didn't deserve to be in the title game gets blown out and we're left to wonder what a great game USC vs. LSU would have been.
I'm not rooting for anyone but I rather OU win because those damn Gators will walk around with shirts saying they beat the mNational Champs.

The only two games that I've seen Oklahoma live (I mainly stick to Big 10 / Big East Football) are this game, and the previous game vs. Kansas State. These guys look TERRIBLE. What were they doing right earlier in the year, or was it just a soft schedule?

I would have to got with the latter of the two...
Alabama was the toughest team they played. When they played Kansas State they where exposed as they got their ass handed to them on a golden plate.

I saw that WWF announcer Jim Ross on the sidelines for OU not too long ago and I want to know why he is there.

Dola... Their defense looks great, but their offense looks putrid. How they put up 77 points is totally beyond me. It looks like White is hurt, yet they really aren't running the ball that much. Don't they have a good running back?

What the heck is up with the Snoop Dogg video in the broadcast?

The Snoop Dogg video was (apparently) supposed to be the grand finale of the "Ultimate Bling" ad campaign.
Only problem is -- I still don't know WTF was supposed to have stolen/tried to steal the trophy in the first place.

Jason White: Halftime Stats
6/15, 28 yards, 1 int.
Should have known LSU was going to win, Sooners have the Heisman winner.

I've never seen one of their commercials and I wasn't really paying attention so I was really confused when I noticed that on the TV. I thought one of my kittens might have changed the channel for a second.

as a result, he's gone back the the shitty form he displayed a couple years ago. simple, really

d00d...I stopped doing that a long time ago (last Spring I think). I'm slowly designing a new one, but I have several other projects I'm working on before I get back to football.

Wow, Jason White really sucks. I think he might drop dead during the game. He can't run, he either underthrows or overthrows everything, he can't read a blitz or find an open guy.
But OU scores a TD.

I can't believe this game is so close.
BTW, what in the hell is up with LSU's spread formation on punts? I've never seen anything like it before, and I don't know how you can expect to get a punt off without it being blocked in that formation. Without that, this game is really a blowout.

It's something similar to what Airforce runs. The idea is that you have a punter who can also throw the ball, so if the return team goes all out to block and brings everyone in, one of those guys out wide will be uncovered. Then either the punter or a protector will make an audible call to a pass.

This game might actually have a good finish. That INT that Mauck threw that got ran back to the LSU 30 really turned things around.

Game.
White did what he did all game, held the ball too long. He can't read the game. Thats why he won't play in the pros or coach.
