What is the best way to watch my league develop with out any interaction from myself? I want to set all of the options for the CPU to run and have the least amount of interaction as possible. I always liked watching my league develop from more of a commissioner's role (like I currently do in OOTP5). Any suggestions would be helpful. I know you have to pick a team at the beginning of the game but would much rather have all of the teams run by the CPU. I believe you can do this in TPF but I'm afraid to spend the money on that game. FOF2004 seems like a much more polished game. What do you currently do to play more of a commissioner's role instead of an owner? Thanks for your time!

I haven't tried this, but can you setup a multiplayer league with yourself as the commish and no human players?

I'd like to be able to sim seasons without picking a team, it would make it easier to be able to sim ahead to get some history as a lot of people like to do before starting their careers. As it is you basically have to pick a team, and let the scouts do everything for you. They won't take any actions in free agency unless you do that manually though, so over time this will result in a pretty weak team and a high likelihood of you getting fired if you have that option turned on.

edit - typo

I really wish there was a better way, but there's not. You are forced to take over a team, and if you don't participate in free agency or try to resign your vets, they all walk. It's unfortunate, because that's fast becoming one of the most underrated features of OOTP - the ability to "set it and forget it" (sorry, I flipped past a Ronco commercial last night...).

If you have it set correctly, your scouts will sign free agents to fill your roster (as in, the rejects), and it will game plan and draft for you, but that's about it. Eveverything else will go to pot while on "autopilot."

That sounds very interesting. How do you start a multiplayer league?

I haven't tried that. Anyone else?

I'm not familiar with how the multiplayer function works, but I assume after you sim X number of seasons, you would assign one team to be human, then perhaps you could click off of multiplayer and have a "normal" game? Sounds good in theory, but I don't know whether it works.

I haven't done it, but all the multiplayer options are in the window that appears when you click on the "head" icon.

It doesn't work. If you set all the teams to computer controlled and simulate, the teams won't resign players. All the great players get passed up in free agency then eventually sign one year deals worth 500k.
