The poll closed Saturday, and with that, Harvard wins the national championship 4-1 over Michigan. Thanks for reading and participating.

I haven't decided yet when I'll start on 1902.

For 1902, could you include my Alma Mater Beloit College? They did tie Norte Dame in 1901. :)

It's not in my control. It's based on a college football history website and a dice-and-charts game I have called "Quick Play Football". The teams have to be rated by the game, though unrated teams show up as bit players based on the scores of their actual games.

According to the history website, Beloit will continue to play top-level football until 1905, but disappear after that, probably due to lack of games to rate them with, and eventually because they probably don't compete in Division I.

If you want to see how Beloit did in 1901 (or 1900 for that matter), go to the link I posted in the first post which describes the 1901 season (also has links to 1900) and at the bottom has the final standings for all teams.

A further note: 1902, when I get to it, should be a pretty interesting and substantial year as there will be over 70 teams competing, a jump of about 30 clubs from 1901, including the start of the rivalry that is Alabama-Auburn. I also looked ahead a bit in the years and I think the team count draws back a little, probably due to the ultraviolence present during this era that resulted in deaths on the field on a consistent basis.
