Been thinking about accepting an international friendly.

Wondering how much it cost to travel there and if I take in any money from the game ?

Travel is $6000 but you get half the gate. Look at the teams past friendlies. If they drew about 2K to an international match, you'll break even.

Look at the Club History. If they've been around at least 2-3 seasons then you can reasonably expect to at least break-even. If they're holding a high position in the league, you might make some money even.

As an example, here are the last few home friendlies I hosted, all involving FOFCers... Values are in C$, so compare it to a travel expense of 12K C$

18312
27185
19645
28420

These are all from this season, and not once the crowd money failed to cover the traveling expense. If you look at the other team's past friendlies, and they often cover the travel expense, they still should for your game.

Other thing I always do though, is arrange for a home-and-home series. So that way, over two game, you travel once, and host once, in fact splitting the travel cost in two between the two teams...
