What about the Icewind Dale Trilogy, Dark Elf Trilogy, Legacy of the Drow, etc.?

I've read the Icewind Dale trilogy and thought it was pretty good. Haven't read the rest yet.

Salvatore is a good author and his Drzzt novels are my favorite of his books. You should read the others, they are very good.

I think the first ten books were interesting and pretty good. To me, the well has gone dry with Drizzt Do'Urden.

The Dark Elf Trilogy and Legacy of the Drow are excellent books.

I also recomend the 3 Cormyr books along with a stand alone novel called Raven's Bluff. The Cormyr series is my favorite of the Forgetten Realms novels and Raven's Bluff is a good story with some good humor in it. They aren't Salvatore books, but they excellent Forgetten Realms books.

Wasn't Salvatore the guy who killed off Chewbacca? I'll never forgive him for that.

Haha. I think I heard about that. He wrote one or two New Jedi Order books.

Personally I like The Thousand Orcs the best ....but Homeland I feel is his greatest book .

Yeah, I'm fairly certain his first one was what kicked off the whole Yu'uzhan Vong War story arc, where they basically dropped a moon on Chewbacca. I still enjoyed the arc (they recently wrapped it up), but it definitely had a much grimmer feel without that walking rug.

So it turns out that I am not the only hertless bastrd who ever hated Chewbacca.
