Just wanted to see what teams everyone controlled. Do you stick with an established school or do you use your Solecismic 8 team? Just wanted some comparisons....

Rutgers. It took me about 8 years to become respectable, and 12 to win a national title (on the hardest difficulty setting). I left off in the middle of my title defense....

I just started a new TCY dynasty, at Hickory in the North Carolina Sol-8. I plan on moving up to a different school sometime. I'm trying to simulate a coach's probable career this time, which I don't normally do.

My 2 longest careers are with Army and a Sol-8 team.

My next project is with an Ivy league school, a la Harvard or Yale, which would be thrust in a major conference (big east or something)... Gotta stop playing FOF2004 for that to happen though, so it's not gonna happen soon !

Nebraska. I figured that if I played with a lesser school...to try and build them up to a powerhouse...that it would eventually happen. So why not just start at the point that I want to get to? =) Plus they're my favorite team.

My last few seasons were with Mizzou... it was a lot of fun actually. I ended up building a decent program that attracted some top tier talent. I always hate the stud prospects leaving early though...

UNC-major conference, but reletively low in prestige. PLus, they are my favorite college and I play with them in any college game

Wright State in the SCE. I'm gonna go to Ohio State as soon as they (or IF they EVER) offer me a job. Bastards ;)

I just drafted a top tier QB when my 5th season ended, hense I went over to FOF for 5 yrs. I'm at year #5 with FOF, so after this season it's back to TCY to see how this stud QB does with so little talent. :)

I've been running a TCY/FOF2004 career side by side for about 25 years (I'm in the year 2030 now). I started out in TCY as Arizona State but around the year 2026 I got fired :(. I wound up taking a job as "Corpus Christi" the Sol 8 team in TX. In 22 years they had never had a winning season, and in 2 years I had gotten them to a 8-3 record and an OT loss away from a bowl game. I am hoping for a job offer soon from a higher up school, preferably one with not such a horrible academic reputation that ASU had. In FOF2004 I was originaly the 49ers but I moved them to Reno after getting them to completely finance a stadium deal for me. I renamed them to the Reno Hustlers, and I am a perenial Super Bowl contender every year. My stud HB in FOF I actualy had on my ASU team in TCY, who I recruited from a School that I use to play against when I was in HS. Strangly ironic :)

I always start off with Virginia Tech, but within 20-30 seasons I tend to move to a former powerhouse gone bad. For example, one career I went to Florida State after they had experienced 25 straight losing seasons.

UGA, but I only use it to produce draft classes for FOF2004, sim everything straight through.

For my most intensive career thus far, I took over my alma mater, North Carolina State. I gradually built up the academics and prestige. After ten years, we were a powerhouse, battling it out with Maryland every year for the ACC Championship and a shot at the National title. I pretty much quit the career after that.

For my next one, I'm thinking about taking over Troy State. They're at the bottom in prestige and academics. Regionally, they're in the same state as Alabama and Auburn, so recruiting local players should be tough, also.

I tend to run either Arizona State, or one of the crap teams in the Sun Belt Conference.

Minnesota. In a related event my girlfriend thought that golden gophers is possibly the least inspiring team name for a football team.

I've done quite a few where I start off with a Sol-8 team, but my current dynasty I started with Idaho. After 9 seasons there and getting them up to a top-10 team, I took the job at Northwestern. After 14 seasons and 5 Titles, I was finally offered the job I've been waiting for - Washington.

UTEP, of course. And the bonus is that they're worse than most Sol 8 teams... ;)

My current game -

started at Alexandria (virginia, where I live - sol 8) and took them from nothing to top 25.

then took the Clemson job, then Tennessee, where I didn't do squat.

Took the Nevada job, and won 2 MNC's. Took the Oklahoma job (they were pretty down at the time) and won 4 more.

I think when I get tired of this game I'll start one with Nevada and see how I can do - I had good luck recruiting California and Arizona heavily.
