Yeah, I know I've seen the E but can't figure it out. The R looks slightly familiar but not as much as the E.

A friend and I took a stab at this last night and had to look up about 5 of them including the "E". I could have sworn it was a racing game like Pole Position or Rad Racer or Road Blasters, but no. Spoilerspace for answer below...
