I was just doing some Sunday evening FOFing, while I have come across one of the toughest situations I have ever been in. I have been hit by the biggest "injury bug" I have ever seen. I didn't get hit by influenza, I think it is more like "pussitis." Take a look at the screenshot on this page, and tell me how ridiculous you think it is.

Just so you know, I am not bashing this game. It is just a crazy event that I thought I had to show everyone here. I have actually been able to hold on with a 6-1-1 record.

Luckily I have a bye week this week. I might be able to get a few players back!

I had 12 guys Out at one time before, 6 of them gone for the whole season (with some probables and questionables thrown in).

I use the default injury setting and my coach was rated "good."

Do you play guys when they are probable/questionable/doubtful. Maybe this contributed to it.

It is the Colts afterall, soft dome players who can't handle a hangnail. ;)

I've decided that training time can be very helpful to prevent injuries.. how much time did you use towards injury prevention during your training schedule?

Good point Eaglesfan27. By the way, can there really be more than one "Eaglesfan" on this board? I'm confused. I think you guys gotta throw down for the handle.

What kind of Center gets multiple concussions? I mean really.

The one who played for the 49ers in the early/mid 90's. he had one of those special bubble-type helmets and everything.

I've had worse. Try having every receiver on your team injured at once.

Once again I was just using the default setting. I really just think it was one of those once in a decade type of things.

This looks nasty but just look at an injury list for most teams half way through the season and I think you will see comparable injuries to what your seeing this year(which is an atypical year for FOF at this setting). Just look at the superbowl teams list just for the players who are out or IR(from USA today):

Panthers
Kavika Pittman DL Knee out for season
Nathan Black WR Hand Out indefinitely
Damien Richardson S Knee I-R
Casey Moore FB Hand I-R
Melvin Tuten OT Leg I-R
Walter Young WR Wrist I-R
Mike Caldwell LB Hamstring I-R

Pats
Damien Woody C Leg out for season
Rosevelt Colvin LB Hip out for season
Mike Compton G Foot out for season
David Patten WR Knee out for season
Adrian Klemm OT Ankle out for season
Fred McCrary RB Leg out for season
Lonie Paxton C Knee I-R

Yes they are at the end of a long season but again this is only listing the players who are gone for the year. Also these players aren't all just taxi squad players there are a lot of starters here as well. These are the two teams left still standing as well so I would assume that this can't be much worse than average for a NFL team.
I don't exactly know why the Pats didn't use IR for a lot of these players who must then be on the 53 man roster wasting space. Were they really strapped for salary cap space this year? Does anyone know anything about this?

In real life you can also have a practice squad, and other such ways you can get around injuries.

I completely agree. The only point I was trying to make is that in real life injuries are rampant in the NFL. Things like practice squads would probably need to be added if you would want to simulate more accurately injuries. Even then I think most users would tone down the injuries if they could. It just is more fun without too many injuries. I feel for what has happened to your team because it is outside the norm for injuries in a season but all I was trying to say is that real coaches/GM have to deal with things like this all the time.

One other thing I'm noticing about injuries (unfortunately as it cost me a SB): The amount of injuries really seems to emphasize the important of team depth. My best seasons have been with very few star players but good backups at key positions (and at least decent backups at most positions.)

You ain't seen nothin until you sign a big-time FA QB (like Pennington) to a mega deal with an awful team (like Detroit) see him lead the team to a`10-3 record playing very well, then POOF! His knee falls off, you lose the last three, and he's out for the next season and a half. You draft a QB with your #1 to replace him, BOOM! Severe hamstring pull. 2 QB's on IR and your will to continue that career... gonzo.

I've had worse happen to me a couple times. It sucks I know. I actualy had 4 stud QB's go down in a row. It was then that I decided to become a running team...
