I was just wondering if anyone here has and has played Prince of Persia SOT ?
Is the gameplay any good and what are your main impressions of the game .
I've really been wanting to pick it up but wanted to know what the buyers reviews are .

I love it thus far, it's hard and definitly a thinking FPS. The graphics are excellent, game flows nicely (well, right now I'm stuck trying to find a way out of this room), controls are excellent.

If you like this genre, pick it up. The game has been given glaring reviews buy everyone.

FPS?

I haven't checked out anything on the new one, but have they completely changed it up from the original?

I frigging loved the original game..was outstanding.

Ditto but I would call it a Adventure game.

FPS - First person shooter, although you use a sword instead of a gun.

The more I think about it, it's not a true FPS... you do see your character. Adventure game sounds better. It's similar to Tomb Raider.

Sorry, I didn't mean what was an FPS..I meant, ? as in did they change the focus of the game? :)

Ok, so it is still 3rd person, you just meant the gameplay is like a shooter? That I can deal with.

There a time limit on this one? I'm not sure in my older age I can handle the time limit like in the original, that 1 hour was intense.

Yeah, it isn't a FPS. It's a third person action-adventure game. GREAT puzzles and fun. And if you get stuck you can go to gamefaqs, I won't tell no one ;).

;)

I've already been to Gamefaq's... :D ...and I'm stuck again!

Great game, a worthy purchase imo.

Awesome ! Guess I'll be picking this up and trading in the horrid Tomb Raider AOD game ..... Plus I heard Splinter Cell was free with a purchase of Prince of Persia .

Then again I could always drop my Chemistry class and get a refund on the Chemistry book .

I'm playing Prince of Persia on the PS2 right now, about 70% through (had to use the walkthrough on IGN a couple of times, but I generally suck at these types of games, so that's not that bad, really), and I love it. A very good mix of puzzles (mostly puzzles) and combat.

The only annoying things about it for me occur during combat:

1. The camera has a tendency to get "stuck" behind a wall, pillar, curtain, etc, making it hard to see what you're fighting.

2. The prince has the annoying tendency to continue attacking an enemy that is down rather than the other still-standing enemies that are kicking his ass. Or maybe, as I said, I just suck. :)

All in all, fun, wonderful graphics, good level of challenge. I highly recommend it.
