Here we go.

Even after two years ago.. I have butterflies the size of rutebegas.

Can't be anything like what the Pats and Cats have at this moment..

but it's time for kickoff.

Good luck to both teams... but GO PATS!

Tasan

Three and out, not a great sign for Carolina.

Tasan
02-01-2004, 05:31 PM
Well thats going to suck. Great return by New England. I'm rooting for the Panthers, just for the underdog factor. I really don't have anything against the Patriots.

Tasan
02-01-2004, 05:32 PM
OH and the DVD recorder is going, if anyone is interested.

3ric
02-01-2004, 05:34 PM
That was the first time I saw some pressure on Brady today... good play by Peppers.

TLK
02-01-2004, 05:35 PM
please don't let this be a blowout......

Tasan
02-01-2004, 05:36 PM
Yeah, either way. I'd like a competitive game this year, please.

Wow what a conservative call on 3rd down.

Tasan
02-01-2004, 05:37 PM
WOW How does he miss that?

3ric
02-01-2004, 05:38 PM
Delay of game on the defense? Didn't someone complain this was called too often in FOF2k4?

Edit:
WOW that was a bad kick...!

SirFozzie
02-01-2004, 05:39 PM
And Foz's Blood Pressure has registered it's first uptick of the game.

Any of you have four minutes into the game in the pool?

If we can't punch it in from the Red Zone, it's going to be a LONG game.

Tasan
02-01-2004, 05:42 PM
Did Carolina even run that series??? Don't you dance with the one that brought you?

3ric
02-01-2004, 05:42 PM
Vrabel sacks Delhomme... nice play by the Pats.

3ric
02-01-2004, 05:45 PM
Anyone but me think that Ed Hochuli (the referee) works out a lot? He looks like he could play linebacker for someone.

Tasan
02-01-2004, 05:46 PM
Yeah he's a buff dude, I think its a new occurance though, like the last 2 seasons.

02-01-2004, 05:49 PM
How about those commercials?

Tasan
02-01-2004, 05:50 PM
So far, the only decent one was the FedEx Alien one. Heck, they've even played a rerun Quatro commercial so far.

Tasan
02-01-2004, 05:55 PM
Okay, the HR Block one made me laugh out loud. "Willie, what would you do?"

3ric
02-01-2004, 05:55 PM
I wish I could see the same commercials you guys do. Instead, I'm getting the same old tired ones we always get.

JonInMiddleGA
02-01-2004, 05:56 PM
I thought the Pepsi bears spot was cute, as was the "Bad Dog" Bud Light spot. Other than that ... much more fizzle than sizzle.

Yeah, but Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad seems to have hacked the play-calling AI...

Thanks! It fits usually...Althought if I get to updating my Great Race dynasty, I may have to change it.

So, over/under dropped to around 13 or what?

Eaglesfan27
02-01-2004, 06:10 PM
I love how the announcers are trying to reframe the relatively non-exciting first quarter as two boxers trading body blows to wear each other down.

I thought the donkey was the worst one yet.

This game is turning into a Rockettes show....1-2-3 KICK

And for the love of Pete, will someone CATCH A BALL?!?!

Eaglesfan27
02-01-2004, 06:19 PM
Levitra is the new Viagra.

Edited to add: Well actually it is a drug that works just like Viagra, made by a different drug company.

My dad and I live about 250 miles apart, for Cowboys and big games, we get together with one of my uncle's online and chat during the games. He just messenged me this:

Which punter is going to be the MVP?

Best quote so far!

The angles were all just bad, nothing you could really do.

The_herd
02-01-2004, 06:46 PM
I should have went with my guy and put some money on the Pats and under. The Panthers aren't doing anything, and if Vinatieri hits those 2 FG's its over, because the Pats aren't giving up 2 TD's today.

Eaglesfan27
02-01-2004, 06:51 PM
That was a heck of a run by Davis.

Noop
02-01-2004, 06:52 PM

SirFozzie

14-10 in The Greatest Game we have ever played .....Hope the real game is as exciting .

02-01-2004, 06:56 PM
Clutch catch by Proehl there.

SirFozzie
02-01-2004, 06:59 PM
Yup.. looks like the field is slick though. Tough break on that Muhammed catch. If they can convert this third and long they'll be well set up to get on the board before halftime AND to get some confidence.

GREAT seperation by Smith on that TD. Boy has some jets in there.

Marmel
02-01-2004, 07:02 PM
I'd just like to say that I placed a fairly sizable bet (among many other prop bets) that the first score of the game would be a Patriots Field Goal.

FUCK YOU ADAM VINIATERI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marmel
02-01-2004, 07:05 PM
I did win a nice bet on who the first penalty would be against though. :)

If it wasn't for betting, this Superbowl would have put me to sleep a while ago. ;)

Tasan
02-01-2004, 07:05 PM
Nice catch up by the DB there to make the tackle.

3ric
02-01-2004, 07:06 PM
Wow, horrible throw by Brady. He overshot the receiver by a good 7-8 yds...

Tasan
02-01-2004, 07:06 PM
There are times that I want to say Brady looks like a young Montana, then he goes and overthrows a wide open TE like that....

Tasan
02-01-2004, 07:07 PM
Dola...Of course, Montana was only playing his 1st season by his 4th season...sat for 3 years.

Tasan
02-01-2004, 07:08 PM
Throws like THAT.

SirFozzie
02-01-2004, 07:08 PM

Eaglesfan27
02-01-2004, 07:14 PM
Now the question is: What are you going to watch/or do during halftime? As for me, I think I'll play a little FOF2004 during the halftime with the CBS show on in the background.

Sun Tzu
02-01-2004, 07:14 PM
That was huge because now the Panthers are going into Halftime with the momentum on their side.

SirFozzie
02-01-2004, 07:14 PM
Yup. Going to be a fun 2nd half.

The people who bet the under of 38 were feeling great.. then BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM...

And they just called the people who bet the over off the ledge...

Tasan
02-01-2004, 07:15 PM

02-01-2004, 07:25 PM
I've muted the announcers. I'm seriously starting to question if they are actually watching the game from some of their comments. My favorite is the "He gets buried" after he fell down.

How come no penalty of Brushii (sp.)? Apparently that's not unecessary roughness?

pjstp20

Comey
02-01-2004, 07:34 PM
That was the oddest halftime show I've ever seen. I had to watch, given the train wreck they lined up.

What in the world was the final thing they did? It seemed like the thing with Timberlake/Janet wasn't supposed to happen (I'm sure it was, but the cameras cut away awfully quick).

mauchow
02-01-2004, 07:34 PM

Eaglesfan27

As someone rooting for the Panthers.. I'm glad a break went their way. However, that looked like a completion and fumble to me.

3ric
02-01-2004, 07:55 PM
Wasn't the receiver clearly in possession there?

Tasan
02-01-2004, 07:56 PM
Yeah, it was a catch and fumble....just happened to quick for the refs. Too bad they can 't review that.

Tasan
02-01-2004, 07:56 PM
Okay that bud lite commercial was just gross.

I don't know.. the girl was pretty and the Bud Lite commercials have been the funniest as a group tonight I think.

SirFozzie
02-01-2004, 07:57 PM
Ok.. any talk about how the Pats get all the calls just got disproved right there and then.

That was a fumble to my admittedly biased eye.

Bud Lite has had some great ads tonight

The only way it could be reviewed was if New England wanted to review for the fumble. However, the only thing that would have happened was that it would have been Carolina's ball at the spot of the fumble. So, it would not have been in their favor.

Of course, Carolina could not have reviewed it.

Okay low comedy was a poor choice of words by me. BAD should have been it.

Eaglesfan27
02-01-2004, 08:11 PM
Ok, I can agree with that, but I still thought the girl was pretty and as a group I think bud lite has had the funniest ads. I would agree that this was the least funny of all of the bud lite commericals.

And here go the pats. I really can't see the Panthers winning...they just CAN'T move the ball.

SirFozzie
02-01-2004, 08:20 PM
Tasan: I wouldn't be so quick

Vinatieri isn't great today.. if the Panthers can hold out.. plus one Delhomme-Smith ball like the first one.. and it's a new ball game..

But this has been pretty good.

Tasan
02-01-2004, 08:23 PM
Well, things just got worse for Carolina....this is going to be tough to overcome.

SirFozzie
02-01-2004, 08:23 PM

Good man. Plus, its not like the Pats didn't just win 2 years ago. Now if you were a Cardinals fan, and they were in the superbowl (HA!), then you MIGHT have a case.

Still, I'm calling EMS ;- )

QuikSand
02-01-2004, 08:54 PM
