Noop and I will see you on October 9!

No offense, but I'm not happy that we're droppping GT and picking up Syracuse. I'd much rather drop Duke or Wake. The ACC schedule is weak enough as it is.

And considering the fact that NC State has played us tough the past several years, and the fact that Thursday night games are a death-trap, I'm REALLY not happy about that matchup.

GT fans feel the same way. We've had quite a rivalry develop over the last several years (probably since the Joe Hamilton game--I would go back to 1992, when GT led by 10 late and lost by 5, but there were a fair number of 51-0 and 51-7 games between then and 1999).

Hmm flying to New York to see my beloved Noles take on the Orangemen of Syracuse.... well I didn't plan on going to it but I will beg my parents :) Unless of course Miami has a home game which means another night in the Orange Bowl.

Frankly, I am a bit shocked that Syracuse scheduled a ACC school. Basically, we need some high profile OOC games, and some kind of trip to Florida as often as possible, so I guess that is what led to it. We'll surely lose this one with the team (and more specifically, the coach) we have returning, but it should be a fun game, and we are always capable of pulling an upset in the Dome.

NC State has a fantastically difficult schedule next year. We start with D-IAA Richmond (replacement for Navy, which bought out of a home game with us next year), a bye week, and then get Ohio State in Raleigh. We miss on UVa and Duke in the schedule (two toss-ups because rarely does State ever beat the snot out of Duke for whatever reason) and host Miami, FSU, Wake, and Tech. We travel to UNC, Clemson, Maryland, and VaTech. We close with a breather, our final state legislature-mandated game against East Carolina in Charlotte. If we get eight wins or more out of that, I think we're doing pretty good considering we're breaking in our first new quarterback in four years.
