So I'm playing a $5 sit and go tonight and there's a guy 2 seats to my right trying to buy every pot. He builds up a big chip lead, I hang in catching him once or twice. It gets down to the final four (top 3 get paid) and 1 guy mysteriously keeps "losing connection" (i'm convinced it was collusion) so he'd go "all in" for the BB and then he stayed out. So the "buyer" knocks out the 4th guy so the phantom comes back to go all in and lose all his chips to the buyer leaving just us 2. He starts raising every pot, he's got 8500 and I have 1500 so I'm in no position to mess around. I decide that going all in every hand is my best defense, get him to fold a couple of times then I hit one. THEN it starts...

A-2s(me) vs A-10o

flop... 10-10-2 Fuck me, he flops a set.
4th street... 10-10-2-2 oh great, I hit the boat but his is bigger.
river... 10-10-2-2-2 BOOYEAH 4 of a kind I double up.

next hand I get big slick suited and he folds preflop... NEXT hand

A-4o(me) vs 8-8

flop... 10-9-7 Great, pocket pair with inside straight draw and I have nothing
4th street... 10-9-7-10 Even better, now he has 2 pair and inside straight draw with me still having nothing.
river... 10-9-7-9-10 2 pair with Ace doubles me up again

Another hand, I go all in with 5-4o he has an ace I hit a 4 to win. End up knocking him out and win the $25. His buying, colluding ways couldn't win :D

seems like it would hardly be worth it in a 5 dollar entry tourney... But, i don't put anything past scumbags.

I know, my thought exactly. Tho if they team up to take 1st and 3rd that's $35 with an $11 investment. I was just happy that I beat him since I felt like he was being a dick the way he was playing.

Heh, those aren't examples of me being good at poker. Those are examples of me being SUPER ASS LUCKY at poker :)

Right, but as Chubby said, if they make money per tourney between them and do it several times a day...I doubt they'd get away with this at a higher table.

It never hurts to report what you think is "collusion" to the cardroom manager. If they have received similar complaints before, they can take action. It also shouldn't be much of an effort for them to check and see how many other tournaments those two players have played together, so any collusion should be easy to spot. Asshats like that ruin it for everyone...
