It's sad just how pervasive racism has become. :D

I find it funny that the council woman thinks the dog should be killed for being a racist.

Yeah, I caught that too. It's amazing how some people think sometimes.

I heard they were tipped off the first time when they saw the dog walking around in a white sheet.

But seriously, I do know that dogs can be trained to sic certain racial groups. I'm just poking fun at this certain story.

That's what I was doing too actually but for a brief moment I did wonder if the trainer of the dog might be investigated. I don't know if the police train their own dogs or do they use outside trainers? I have no idea.

My dog is discrimitory against Amish people...

Actually, I'm serious. On eof my dogs was bought from the Amish. She HATES it when the guys are dressed in suits. She doesn't attack, she just barks a lot. No proof that the Amish did anything to her, but it seems a bit of a coincidence.

ANd I do find it funny that she would advocate putting the dog to sleep. People suck. If they're going to plan to put that dog to sleep, then I would gladly adopt it.

Obviously you're a racist then. :)

Edit: The sad thing is, there'd be people who would be serious when they said that, in that situation. Ridiculous.

Many dogs are prejudiced against black people. Most dogs are more fearful of/aggressive toward bigger/darker/deeper-voiced people. They will almost all be more aggressive around men and darker people.

Not just blacks, but darker Native Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, etc. I've seen it up close and personal.

There was an episode of King of the Hill that had this happen: Hank's dog was allegedly racist and one of the guys was wanting to get her put to sleep.

When I read this thread without clicking on the link, I thought this was an old story. After clicking on the link I see it is a newer related story. IIRC the description of the incident that originally landed Dolpho in trouble, it was not portrayed properly in the linked article. I believe the dog had taken down a suspect, who was black. While the officers were initially taking him into custody, calling the dog off of him, a crowd pushed in around the scene. The dog then went after a young black child in what was described by the officers as "in the chaos". I don't think the child was hurt beyond being knocked to the ground, but this council woman wanted the dog put down or retired. I can't imagine it was another dog and council woman.

We should keep a thread dedicated to ridiculous stories like this. I think it would be hilarious to look back at some of the weird stories we see, and we see a lot, thanks to the seemingly endless roving abilities of this community on the Internet.

I mean, consider this, the Swedish animal sex thing, my thread about the gay porn Indians prospect from Japan, the exploding sperm whale, etc. The list goes on and on. All those just came from the past week or so!

We could have a sticky thread with either links to threads like this or links directly to whatever news story/website is linked. :)

They are trained and bred actually from outside sources, but some units can also train commands after they get them.

They are incredibly loyal but can be fierce in a nanosecond upon command.

On advice of his lawyer, the dog now claims that he was simply using satire to protest the use of the phrase "African-American".
