...do you know where your recruits are?
Seriously, this is always an interesting day to see the final tally for your team and where some of the blue-chip stragglers end up.
Anyone sweating bullets on a particular high school player?

FSU's still in the mix for a couple of guys on the defensive side, but even if we don't get them, we've still got a top 5 class from what I've read. Plus, we get DeCody Fagg and another guy from last year's class who didn't make the grade but have enrolled this semester.
There's one guy from Jonesboro, GA, a DE, who committed to FSU, but reports are that he is reconsidering GT. Considering we need defensive ends and backs, I hope we don't lose him, or at least are able to make up for his potential loss with some last-minute signings.

You ended up with Dunbar too.
Is Rivals VERY slow on the other sites?
The craziest thing, at Oak Creek, Wisconsin, the school canceled all the signings for the day, including 4 star DE Rhyan Anderson who is down to OU, Miami, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.

Cool! I was just reading the article in the local paper, which had us in the running for Dunbar, but not a lock.

Miami landed Willie Williams, choosing UM over FSU. But, FSU got JR Bryant, a CB.

Yeah, it was between OU and FSU. If OU had been closer to home it might have been different, but then again, that's how we got some of our recruits:)

Have you been following the Willie Williams articles in the Miami Herald? They're a riot.
Here's a confirmed list of signees for FSU. (http://floridastate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=264205)

It's subscribers-only, on this day at least. The local paper has a list that was updated last night, but before the Dunbar commitment.
I can't remember the name, but there's one guy we are (or were) after who is a 2-sport guy. I'm hoping he will come here since our basketball team is looking good.

Radio reports are that DE/LB Daryl Robertson will be signing at GT at 1:30 at his press conference; and that he's already faxed his LOI - that GT is respecting his wishes to not announce before his PC.
The big player still out there in Georgia is DE Brandon Miller - he has a press conference scheduled for 5:30pm (apparently he wants his mother to be there, and she doesn't get off work until 5pm). He's considering Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Florida State - reports for the last few days are that he's leaning towards UGA, but unconfirmed.
I'm very happy with Tech's class - some big offensive linemen, a lot of help on the D-line (which we needed), a couple of big linebackers, and a huge WR in Calvin Johnson. If we somehow get Brandon Miller, I'll be ecstatic. :)

Yeah, that's him. I hate it when guys change their mind. You wonder why they just don't wait and make one decision.
Miller is reported here as going with UGA, as well.
I'm hearing Miller possibly to FSU.

If you want, you can send Dwayne Jones over to OU;)

Rutgers recruiting class is supposed to be very good this year. Quite possibly tops in the Big East, they are still trying to get a couple of pretty good ones that will come down to the wire as well.

GT also just beat out the Canes to land a big DT in Daryl Richard--a top 15 DT. I've written Miller off to the Dogs, but he would turn this from Gailey's first really solid class to a really, really good class.

Just got back from Tucker's signing day. Every player signed, and D.T. sat there with a Miss. State cap and a Troy State hat, moving back and forth between the two. The last player signed before him, and then he sat there, with the cameras on and everyone in the room (about 100 people) staring at him, for about 60-90 seconds. He finally decided Troy State.

Ive been following this class for awhile now and it looks awsome...I think for the first time Missouri is shutting down it borders from the other Big-12 teams...almost every single talent in Missouri is heading to columbia...Chase Patten and Tony Temple look like future stars, while some of the other guys look solid. The one thing i hope is that they can get a great reciever to step-up since the team hasnt been the same since Justin left...

He is a big guy for a DB. If he has wheels, he may turn into the Cougar Back. and I think we got him cause of John Beck.
My hopes are up for these WR's we have picked up. If the can freaking catch, we can win some games finally.

It's about 50/50, you always hear in the press how a mission is beneficial to BYU players. But the Ben Olson article in SI summed it up perfectly, and woke a lot of people up. The boys on their missions, generally don't have the time to work out. They get their P-day, to do their laundry and such, and if any time is left over, they might be able to play hoops, flag football, soccer or something, but that also depends on what their Mission President allows. Some are stinges and refuse to allow anything of the type, afraid of losing their missionary to an injury.
It has to be one of the most awkard situations to handle as a college coach, as they can come back, and take off to anywhere they want, however, byu has to have that scholarship locked for them.

LOL,
Naw, but they want them out there preaching and doing things to get them hurt. To lose a missionary is a logistical nightmare for a lot of people. As you have to move companions around, and do a variety of things.
I had a friend I went to High School with, that served in Jamaica, and was stabbed in the shoulder. The Jamaican hospital actually used a staple gun on his shoulder, to staple it shut. He came home 6 months early due to a severe infection in it. He lost any chance of playing ball cause of the weakness in his shoulder, and the fact his movement was extremely limited in that shoulder.
They like to keep them in sight, and away from temptations.

Anthony Morelli decommitted from Pitt to Penn State...hes a top 10 QB, and this is a major coup if you ask me...looks like fitzgerald leaving early helped fuel this
Any information on this QB? Or who they signed?
Nice to see the Nittany Lions get a top QB in. The freshman RB from last season looked good at times. Maybe they can return to the top 10 in the next couple of years....or at least do better than the blasted Fighting Irish. :)
Do they publish a Div II list? I'd like to see who NW Missouri State got in.

From what I'm hearing, both Grimes and Robertson decommitted because FSU's coaches tried to persuade both to enrolling next January. By doing that FSU hoped to get the max amount of players without going over their scholarship numbers as they expect/hope to get a few more highly regarded recruits today.
NOISE can I ask where did you hear that from? Because that is true what your say btw however I think they are holding out for a few key players, Tony Carter, B. Miller, D. Pressley and a surprise recruit (I have heard a few rumbles)

Will try to find link. BTW, forgot all about Carter. FSU really loaded up in the DB (and OL) area this year.

NC State's landed all their verbals, but haven't pulled anyone from other schools yet. State fans continue to be mystified at the fact that so many high school players wish to ruin their careers by playing at the black hole that is Carolina football nowadays. At any rate, State's also waiting on DeMario Pressley and perhaps a few others. Missed out on Schaeffer from Florida, but that seemed to be a late push after we nabbed two other Florida recruits earlier.

Blackman and Scott signed last year, but didn't have the academics in order. They've gotten that straightended out and are now coming in this coming year. Andre Brown was a big get, and we have gobs of talent in the backfield with him, Blackman, Reggie Davis, and TA McLendon (when healthy).
I am glad NCState didnt get Schaeffer because he is lil a Micheal Vick he is a playmaker and lord knows Florida State has problem with fast qb's.

Heard the same thing. It also appears B. Miller will sign with Georgia. T. Carter is between Tennessee and FSU. BTW, Noop I believe the surprise recruit you are talking about is a QB by the last name of Israel. He goes to University High School here in Orlando, FL. He is between Central Florida and FSU.

BTW, thanks so much
CT, IMO this is the best of Schiano's 4 recruiting classes so far. Zuttah had a bunch of offers including Ohio State, Maryland and Pittsburgh. Teel isn't rated highly, but I think he would have gotten alot more recruiting publicity if he hadn't committed back in July. 2 time all state QB, plays on the #2 team in the country and hes been helping us recruit by convincing guys like Beljour and Zuttah and others stay in state. Alot of these guys committed early, Miller, Ziarnowski, Taylor. We haven't landed the big player yet like 2002's Berkley Hutchinson, or last year's Nate Robinson, but we're still in the mix for Brian Toal who will announce later today on ESPN.

The recruiting has clearly gotten better each year. Combined with the momentum of last season, I'm dead serious in my expectations of a bowl bid this year. The combination of improvement and the watered down Big East should make this a near certainty. As long as the O-line is legit, the offense could really "do some things" this season.

Neither will J.R. Bryant (CB) or Jacky Claude(OL). That's why it kind of hurt that Grimes and Robertson decommitted.

Bill Kurelic
Rivals100.com Recruiting Analyst
"There were some changes at Florida State," wide receiver Carl Grimes mother Janice Grimes said moments ago. "His scholarship still stood, but they wanted him to wait and enroll in January."
"So he signed with Michigan State. He did that this morning."
"Florida State called on Sunday and told us about the changes. We thought that was too long to wait. And Michigan State is close to home. I'll get to see him play easier."

The hardest game on the schedule next year is vs. Michigan State in Piscataway. I'm not gonna predict 11-0, because its unrealistic, but 8-3 or 9-2 is definitely possible. I think we lose 5 starters total, Orr, Pyczmuka, Nate Jones, Haw and Grant.

It's hard to get a recruit out of Miami like it is to get one out of Tallahassee. That's why FSU did pretty good in getting Ford, Bryant, and Claude out of the area and keeping Gallon and Manning in the area. Still can't believe we lost Darity to UNC. BTW, I don't post at Warchant or any of those recruiting sites. I'm more of a lurker as those people take this stuff to seriously.

I post every so often only to defend a player most of the time. Darity was a silent commit until his visit. Where the coaches from what I understand said or suggested his was soft like Andrew Henry-Kennon from Lincoln.

Indeed. As I noted above, everyone scratches their head in wonder as Bunting pulls in star recruits even though he's obviously shown a knack for never developing anything out of them (2-10, 1-7 ACC in 2003). That football building must really be something special. :)

From what I heard, the offer pissed him off. And he was looking at BYU and a couple of other schools.
Basically, if he walks on and pays his way for half a year, they would give him a mid year. Which bites!

Washington State got a real nice last-minute surprise when Michael Bumpus, one of the top WR on the West Coast decided to sign with the Cougars after USC dropped his offer.
Washington's class was essentially wrapped up a week or so ago and there have been no surprises thus far. The notables in this class are:
Matt Tuiasosopo, QB - Marques and Zach's little brother, emerged from the EA Elite 11 QB camp as the top QB in that group and one of the top QB's in the nation. Still a little raw in his passing, but a great athlete and ahead of Marques at the same stage.
Keauntea Bankhead, S/WR - A top safety prospect and one of the 3 top recruits in Washington (Matt Tui and Aaron Klovas being the other 2). Shows good quickness, can lay a lick and could play WR but will fill a big need at S.
Dashon Goldson, S - A top JC S, actually signed in December. Originally a Husky signee out of H.S., has 3 years to play 3; looks like he could be another Donte Nicholson (another Husky signee that had to go the JC route before signing with Oklahoma). The Huskies held off a late USC push to land him. He's expected to step in to the starting lineup immediately.
Johnnie Kirton, RB/DL - Kirton is an unusual recruit - a big guy (6'3", 250 lbs) that played RB in H.S. and came within 1 yard of tying the Washington single-season rushing record. He'll start off at RB for the Huskies, but many are drooling at the potential he could have as a DE or DT.
Casey Bulyca, OT - Casey was the Huskies' first commit and is their best-looking linemen in a class full of good ones. Big with quick feet, a nasty attitude on the field and a motor that runs whistle to whistle, he lessens the sting of missing on Aaron Klovas.
Greyson Gunheim, DE/TE - Gunheim is a bit of a sleeper out of Cali, but he has great size and speed. A 6'5", 230 lb guy that played TB in H.S. and reportedly runs in the 4.6 40 range, he has great potential as a DE. Could also be tried at TE.
Erick Lobos, DT - Lobos didn't get a lot of local attention out of Venice H.S. but he came out of the Army All-Star game getting raves from scouts in attendence. He has good size and good quickness (he netted 21 sacks this season from his interior DL position) and could be the Huskies' best interior D-line prospect in years.
Overall, the Huskies' class is being pegged around 18-20 in the nation, 3-4 in what is turning out to be a very strong year for the Pac-10 with as many as 7 teams in the top-25.

Landing Bumpus is like Christmas in February. We'd just missed out on a 3-star WR from California (Breazell? Breazon?), but we'll happily take the 4-star instead! I imagine Devard Darling going pro helped Bumpus' decision a bit.
We had high hopes for Klovas, but he defected to Oregon. The Ducks have had a very impressive recruiting year, second only to the mighty Trojans.

Besides being a BYU fan, I am a Memphis fan. They took a gamble on me, and I had an offer and everything my Senior year, then I blew the knee. No more offer.
But my sister is out there, graduating in May with her Bach. In Forensic Anthropology. I still support them. I almost accepted a position with Sports 790 out there, but the numbers weren't right.

It is a disappointing season from the UCLA perspective when we look across town at what USC got, but I really like some of the players we got.
We managed to bring in Brigham Harwell, a much-needed DE (one of the top DE's on the West Coast). We also signed OL Shannon Tevaga and CB Rodney Van, both 4-star Rivals.com recruits.
Both lines were the key needs for us, and QB, in a late developing need (two of our four quarterbacks transferred in the past month and a half). Harwell is joined by a handful of key 3-star JUCO guys (DE Justin Hickman, DE Kyle Morgan, DT Kenneth Lombard) who will all help us replace the four starters and one key reserve we lost (including All-American DE Dave Ball). Tevaga is joined by 3-star Aaron Meyer and 3-star JC Marc Villafuerte, among others, to reinforce what was probably the weakest area on our whole team (our line was phenomenally bad last year).
We signed a 3-star JC QB named David Koral, and I am excited to see a more mature player come in and compete for the starting spot. If you have watched UCLA at all this past season, you know what kind of problems our QBs have had.
We also did pretty well with receivers and defensive backs, and we got a nice sleeper RB lin Mr. Louisiana, RB Chris Markey.
The story of this recruiting class for us appears to be the fact we couldn't seal thrt deal on some of the top QB HS recruits. We were in on many, and quite frankly, it seems the staff really flubbed up that bit.
We were in on Rocky Hinds (USC), Chase Patton (Missou), Nate Longshore (Cal), Brian Hildebrand (Oregon), and (forget his first name) Tuiasosopo (Washington), among others, and we lost out on them all. :(

Andrew Pearman
Ht: 5-9 Wt: 162 40: 4.3
Position: RB, DB
Projected as: RB
Position Rank: 35
Class: 2004 Senior
High School: Providence HS
(Charlotte, NC)
Biography:
Possibly the fastest player in the state, Pearman ran back-to-back sub-4.3 40s with several coaches clocking him at the same time. Speed simply exudes from the young man who could also play other positions. Though not an every-down back due to his size, with good hands out of the backfield, Pearman could very easily make the move to wide receiver. He is also a humble young man already having learned about the recruiting process from his father and brother who is currently at Virginia. Pearman, a track phenom, rushed for over 1,600 yards and 22 touchdowns this season for Providence.

Top 100 running Andrew Johnson just decomitted from pitt for Miami...Pitt is having one bad day, losing arguably their two best recruits(both of whom were longtime verbals)I really don't get this one. He had a really good chance of being the featured back at Pitt, but instead he chooses to go into another Gore/McGahee/Payton situation in Miami. In addition to Johnson (Rivals.com #9 RB), the Canes also got Bobby Washington (Rivals.com #3) and Charlie Jones (Rivals.com #5). So on paper he's coming in as the #3 RB Recruit. The other two are bouth from S Fla, so they're used to the heat, so he's in for a tough battle just to play.
And what would posess a team to get 3 of the top 10 RBs in the country? Are they planning on reviving the wishbone?
[Edit:] You also have to add to the mix their new QB, Kirby Freeman:
Stats -- He completed 87 of 150 passes for 1,487 yards and 14 TDs and was picked off eight times. He also rushed for 1,300 yards and 16 TDs on 120 carries, averaging close to 11 yards per carry. Benches 285. and I think mayne they are thinking of the wishbone :)

Memphis has not released the class yet so i can not bask in the fun. We need to fire our PR guy.
Haven't seen a list from Minnesota yet, other than a J.C. QB and a RB who commited here last year but didn't qualify academically. I'm thinking that next year we're going to need better strippers...

Rutgers Announces 21-Member Football Recruiting Class
February 4, 2004
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Rutgers University head football coach Greg Schiano announced his 21-member 2004 recruiting class at a press conference this afternoon held at the Hale Center.
The recruiting class is comprised of 13 student-athletes who played their high school football in New Jersey (12 of whom hail from the state of New Jersey and one from New York), five from Florida, two from California, and one from Ontario, Canada.
“Today is quite a significant day in the development of the program here at Rutgers,” Schiano said. “Since the day I arrived, Bob Mulcahy and I have had a vision and partnership about what we wanted to do here at Rutgers and (today) is another step.
“All these recruits are quality athletes and quality human beings.
“We met several of our needs, specifically the offensive line. We needed to build some depth there and we also needed to solidify the kicking position,” he added. “I think this is a good class – a deep class – and I am very proud of the job our staff did in putting this together.
“The goal when we started was that every class has to be better than the one before and we have continued to do that four recruiting classes in a row and that is how you build championship football programs.”

How did Texas A&M wind up doing? Did they get that kid that originally was going to OU? I noticed the #13 rank, which is great, but I have no idea who was in the class.

Wow-thats 2 top 25 classes in a row for my tar heels. Steve Spurrier, I hate you, but please o please come coach Durant, and the extremely talented WR core we have. Boy, Bunting's just like Dorohty used to, he can recruit great players, then do nothing with them. But now we got Roy Williams, and the word is Bunting has one more year MAX. He could be gone in a week, his ice is that thin. The boosters hate em, and he's not winning.

Ben, where did Tucker's star QB end up? I didn't see him at Nebraska. It was quite the little drama this morning. I talked with Coach Ballard last night, and he said that D.T. still hadn't decided, but thought he'd have a decision by this morning. Well, D.T. walked into the library about 20 minutes before he was supposed to sign, holding hats from both Mississippi State and Troy State. He didn't really speak to anyone, made a beeline for Thomas, and took him out into the hallway. They were out there until it was time to sit down at the table, get the TV cameras turned on, and sign on the dotted line. Ballard had set them up to sign in a certain order, but D.T. walked in and asked to be last, because he still wasn't sure. He and Ballard then had a 2-minute or so conversation, and it was obvious D.T. still didn't know what to do. I'm telling you, the kid looked like he was in complete agony as the other 10 guys signed one by one. I got a few shots of him during this time...
http://www.younglifenorthdekalb.com/tuckersign/thumbs/Tucker%20Signing%20Day%202K4%20008.jpg
Check him out apparently praying in this one, even as Swinton, the 10th guy, had just finished signing:

http://www.younglifenorthdekalb.com/tuckersign/thumbs/Tucker%20Signing%20Day%202K4%20021.jpg
After Swinton signed, Ballard said, "and this is our quarterback, D.T. McDowell, and I don't know where he's going to school." There was light laughter in the room, and then it basically went silent, with a few shouts of "follow your heart, D.T." and the like. He sat there for a good 60-90 seconds before he finally reached down and grabbed one of the caps...

Interesting development, by the way. Word is that Georgia is very close to offering Thomas' understudy, RB Brandyn Young, a scholly for Fall 2005. Wouldn't THAT be interesting if he ended up there???

I'm very pleased with Iowa's class. It's too bad that they didn't get the 11th ranked WR named Adrian Arrington from Ceder Rapids Washington. But there are lots of very good players in the class, including Kyle Williams and Walner Belleus. Of course rankings mean very little for the Hawkeyes, as look what Iowa has done with the supposedly "weak" recruiting classes in the last couple of years.

Dola--
And if we only had some linemen. Of 11 signees, only one is a true lineman that played this year. J. Jenkins (back row, far right) was hurt and hardly played. Steven Roche (next to him...Lane College) was the only true linemen to sign. McKain (white kid on the front row...Air Force) was really a FB/LB who they asked to played offensive guard this year. No matter how much skill position talent you have, it is very hard to win championships without standouts on the line of scrimmage.

Why???? What the ---- happened?1. Solich out at Nebraska. {Strike 1}
2. Turner Gill, who developed a very close rapport with D.T., was not named head coach.
3. Callahan demotes Gill to WR Coach from QB coach.
4. Nebraska changes their tune, and begins recruiting D.T. not as a QB, but as an "athlete," when *every* other school was talking to him about playing QB only.
Nebraska had four strikes against them.
FWIW, knowing D.T., I think he made the right decision for him.
Although no one cares but myself and The Almighty:

Not sure if there are any PSU fans out there but I decided to post their class.
I thought overall Penn State has a really good class. Ranked #8 in Rivals, and the Top 15 according to Insiders.com. We got a gift today when Anthony Moreilli de-committed from Pitt and came to Penn State. Dan Conner is suppose to be a superb linebacker. He along with Greg Harrison have already enrolled at Penn State in January and will be able to take part in Spring Drills.
Dontey Brown came from the same high school as Brandon Short, and those that saw him play say that he is further along than Brandon was at this stage of the game. Hopefully by getting the #2 QB in the country (according to Rivals.com) will help Penn State get a few top WR recruits in the future. This is a position they really need to upgrade.

Oh, he had *tons* of other offers, including even National Champs LSU. I can honestly say that I think that, all things considered, this was a good decision for him.If he's possibly signing to play baseball after the draft too, he probably wouldn't get the chance to do that and still start at QB at a Mississippi State, and almost certainly not at LSU. By going to Troy State he has a chance to play in the minor leagues without putting off football for a few years.
Plus, there's always the big fish in a small pond thing, where he could very well be the BMOC on campus, versus one of a number of very good football players at an SEC school.

The craziest thing, at Oak Creek, Wisconsin, the school canceled all the signings for the day, including 4 star DE Rhyan Anderson who is down to OU, Miami, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.
I thought he ruled out the Badgers a while ago. If the Badgers could have gotten him or Jamison (another top DL who went to Michigan), I would have been happy. They did get one top-rated DL, a few good QBs, a couple of good RBs, and some other decent players. Although I certainly will not question the ability of the Badgers to find diamonds in the rough for offensive lineman, I'm always surprised we never seem to get any top-rated recruits at those positions.

All Rutgers fans should be extremely proud of Coach Schiano and what he did with this class. Mike Teel is a proven winner and will be a leader. Dwayne Jones, Jeremy Zuttah, Anthony Miller, and Chenry Lewis are all at, in Jones' case, or among the top of their class at their respective positions. Beljour can be an impact player on both sides of the ball. They picked up a ton of depth on both sides of the line. Special teams was a big problem last year, so Schiano went out and picked up the #1 kicker/punter in the country in Jeremy Ito. We may have missed out on Toal, but he's more than welcome to dwell in the basement of the ACC (honestly, after the reception we gave him vs. ND on Saturday, I thought he was in the bag).
Schiano for Governor of The State of Rutgers!

I'm not a big Penn State fan, frankly I hate them, but they do look to have gotten several good players. Morelli's potential is great, but he is raw. I'd much rather have a guy like Chad Henne. Upside might not be as high, but he is polished. Another thing I need to get off my chest is the fact that these recruiting rankings are meaningless. Joe Paterno is always brining in these "top 10" recruiting classes, but what has Penn State done the last couple years with these great classes? What has Texas done with their top 5 recruiting classes? I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything about these classes, because that's not the way I am, I just think there's too much biases in these recruiting services. You've got guys like Mike Farrell at Rivals.com who upgrades players just because they decide to commit to Boston College. You've got Tom Lemming pushing kids to Nebraska because of his Callahan connection, and who previously pushed kids to Notre Dame and still does to a certain extent.

being a casual HS Football fan I noticed that Alvarez and tha Badgers signed another runnign back from New Jersey. Hey, they've struck gold a few times why not another?!? Also a 6'-7" (!!!!) QB that could press Stocco for the starting position. My questions is this...
what the heck is a "greyshirt" year? They have 2 recruits who are 'greyshirting' this year. Is that basically waiting a year to go to college????

Greyshirting means they enroll in the spring semester, thus they get the spring practice in, but don't count against the 85 man scholarship level during the football season.

From what I can find, Bennett initially verballed to GT; then backed out to verbal to Boise, then changed his mind again and enrolled at Tech - he is currently a student at Georgia Tech and a member of the football team (hence he'll be in Spring Practice, etc).

I'm sure some of this is after-the-fact rationalization since we lost out on him, but this is from the Tallahassee Democrat:
"But the Seminoles missed out on Dade County's best player, Miami Edison linebacker Willie Williams, who picked Miami. That may not turn out to be a bad thing. Williams faces three sworn criminal complaints following his official visit to the University of Florida over the weekend."
Isn't he the one who wrote up his visits for that Miami paper? What happened, and did he write about?
Ksyrup he was a Cane from the beginning no doubt about it. He got into a fight and stole or set off fire alarm while in a Ganesville Hilton Hotel... I'm glad we didnt get him image the fun the media would have.

Dola followup...
From what I can find, Bennett initially verballed to GT; then backed out to verbal to Boise, then changed his mind again and enrolled at Tech - he is currently a student at Georgia Tech and a member of the football team (hence he'll be in Spring Practice, etc).
You must be right...all i see is rival reporting he decided on boise, but maybe he switched back...either way the comments stand, just with a new team :)

I forgot to mention that the Badgers got the #1 kicker in the land. It was so fun to watch John Hall's kickoffs go through the back of the endzone (or the uprights), and this kid has that kind of leg.
Just hope his accuracy is a little better than Hall's was.

Follow up on Willie Williams:
MIAMI -- Top Miami recruit Willie Williams surrendered Tuesday after more criminal charges were added to a record of 10 arrests the university didn't know about when it signed him.
<!-- BEGIN INLINE UNIT -->http://adsatt.espn.starwave.com/ad/sponsors/blank/blank-espn.gif (http://transfer.go.com/cgi/atransfer.pl?name=141468&srvc=sz&context=1331:245:141468:65&guid=1241EBC1-C662-4266-A6C1-437E072036EF&goto=)<!-- InContent Blank -->
<!-- END INLINE UNIT -->Williams turned himself in at the Broward County Jail on an arrest warrant that charged he violated probation in a 2002 burglary case, sheriff's spokesman Jim Leljedal said. Williams will be held without bail until a Friday hearing.
He's fine," Williams' lawyer, Paul Lazarus, who accompanied him to the jail, told the Sun-Sentinel of South Florida. "Obviously he'd rather not be where he is, but he's going to make the best of the situation."
The 19-year-old player was charged Monday with felony malicious damage to fire extinguishers, misdemeanor criminal mischief and misdemeanor battery at a hotel on a recruiting trip to the University of Florida over Super Bowl weekend.
The felony charge carries a possible five-year state prison sentence, and misdemeanors are punishable by up to a year in the county jail.
In response, Miami athletic director Paul Dee suspended the processing of Williams' admissions application. He did not say how long the delay would last. No decision has been made on whether to revoke Williams' athletic scholarship.
"(Willie) knows these are very serious matters and they can absolutely affect his college career and affect the rest of his life," Lazarus, said at a news conference in Fort Lauderdale.
Williams' record and complaints about his Gainesville trip were revealed Feb. 4, the same day he signed his letter of intent with Miami.
He is accused of setting off three fire extinguishers in his hotel, grabbing a woman against her will and hitting a man at a bar in a span of five hours.
Miami was unaware of his arrest record dating to age 14 and has acknowledged lapses in its background checks. Williams chose Miami over Florida State, Florida and Auburn. Florida and Florida State say they didn't know about his record, either.

They hired the people who do background investigations for Fox's reality shows? I don't know.
The Gators are sure some bitches for some shit like this... I mean they waited until signing today to release this info. And before signing Willie was going to sign with Florida State until he got the calls from Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp which changed his mind to stay home. The way it looks to me is they we trying to release to further try to destroy the empire that is Florida State. Either way they won because they have fucked over a in state rival, but I bet they were hoping it was Florida State. Oh Willie will be playing on Labor Day against Florida State you can put the house on that. He already go the okay from Uncle Fester errr.... Larry Coker but he will be on a very short lease.

I wouldn't put anything past any of the football programs in this state. The competition for in-state talent is fierce, and anything you can do to make your rival look bad, benefits you.
