Can anyone help... This used to work for me... Now when I generate pages I keep getting an HTML error...
Does anyone know what to do or how to fix this...
Thanks.
Two choices:
1) stop using the program - you'll get no more errors.
2) Provide more information than "an HTML error"

As a side, I transferred the game from my laptop to my desktop (i ahve not had a gameplay problem)... Again, not sure if this makes a difference...
As for the error, it is a Microsoft error and all it says is that tere is a HTML Generation Error.... It happens about 2-3 minutes into my generation.... That's its... Again it worked before now I am not sure what is happening... Anythign else needed....

Nuggett,
Fido was able to help me with an error reporting utility found in this thread. He should be able to get more information of your problem from this program
http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?t=20894
Anyway, I would bet that your problem may be occuring when the HTML Reporter is actualling generating the pages. Before you exit the program, check and see where the program stopped generating files. For example, in my situation, the program froze when trying to create a page for a game log. When I went back to re-try generating the HTML pages, I simply unchecked the box for generating file logs, and the program generated all of the other pages perfectly.
Also, (as I have learned), Fido is giving us this product for free; and by asking him to fix our problems, it takes away from the time he could be using to make the generator better. So, as he says, (and I agree) if we have a problem, do not nag (like I once did)
See, I can learn
:p

Ok, Here is the problem I get... I try to generate my League and it stops at the 2 minute mark when it is generating the "Procssing Players"... It always stops at this file... 2465.htm
How can I fix this - can I just delete this file.... When I disable the player page generation it produces the HTML files with no problem (except no player information)... It must be something in the player file.
I have transfered the game from my laptop to the desktop and back again, so I am wondering if this is the problem... I thought it may have been the player file I am using in the game, so I simulated a different season with the same palyer file and it generated the HTML pagaes with no problem...
The other problem I have when the HTML Generation works for other careers is the League Leaders page is not produced clean like Fido's samples.... It stretches across 3-4 pages and the Touchdown category show no players and a bunch of zeros... Again any suggestions on what is happening here.
Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help.

Could someone post the original settings for the facepack and logo part of FOFReporter? I was jacking with them before I got this excellent utility working and messed them up :)
Or at least tell me where I should have them pointing...
Thanks,
Roderick

haven't seen one, i've seen logo packs. There are a default logo and a face, I'm getting errors because i don't have the program pointing to them. I can't remember how it was originally. It was something like ./template/ then some more stuff.
I tried reinstalling but it kept the same entry...

What, you can't ask for help with a free utility? I don't see anything wrong with asking for help. If he had 10 threads asking for help, I could see a problem, but all he asked was a simple question. Sheeeesh....

Sorry, I just reinstalled Win XP on my pc and haven't messed with the reporter yet as I couldn't get 1.18 to work anyway. Version 1.16 worked fine, but I kept getting errors with 1.18.
There are alot of reporter users however, and hopefully someone who has it working can get you those settings.

Ok, instead of entering the path information, I just copied the default player and logo files in the directories. That stopped me from getting the overflow error I was getting.
It was totally my fault for messing with what Fido had in there, but oh well :)
Another problem for me was not having the destination directory already created. Until I did that the .exe would bomb out when I tried to generate.
Here's what I did in case it helps someone else:
copied default.gif to \FOF Reporter\LeagueNameHere\players\images\ from \Template\images\
I also copied deflogo.gif from \Template\logo to \FOF Reporter\LeagueNameHere\logos\
Also want to thank Fido for the utility, it makes the FOF leagues alot more personal. I can really connect with my little FOF universe now!
