Here's the transcript (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4179618/) of President Bush's appearance on Meet the Press. Tough questions, and fascinating responses. I think in many ways the President does a nice job of addressing some critical issues. On the other hand, he also does a nice job of avoiding the question and giving non-responses on some critical issues.
A compelling read. The part where he addresses why its important for him to give a complete response to the families of soldiers who have been killed in Iraq was a nice moment on his part, and one that I respect a great deal.
Plenty here for all sides of the debate to pick apart.

A transcript just cannot convey the "feel" of the interview, in my opinion. I suspect that the already polarized opinions on GWB would simply be reinforced by it... supporters would probably agree with much of what he said, and critics would cringe at his demeanor and sometime evasiveness. Not a lot of news, as nearly as I could tell.

Yeah, but for those who didn't have the opportunity to watch, it sure beats the 30 second soundbytes that the nightly news crews will dig out.

I confess I have trouble following his thoughts in settings like this... what with all the squinting and strange emphases and grammatical errors. I ended up watching the first ten minutes or so, then went to do other things, leaving it on in the background.

Sorry I had missed this. I had seen the FOX NEWS guys all talking about this, and what would happen, the other day. It got me very intrigued. Just lost all time this weekend and didn't see much of anything.

I don't want to start, or engage in, some debate about Bush's merits/failings. But I want to take a shot at the guy (and by extention his supporters) and not get answered.-------
