Two strange coincidences today:
1. Last week, my top mid popped, so I listed him. Noticed that Street Walkers (US II) bid on him. Street Walkers had previously bought the last mid I sold back in December. HT-mailed him "Am I your designated supplier of high quality mid products? :)"
He replied that I seemed to be the only one selling them (I'd imagine that's excluding Sweden and/or overpriced guys. Both guys I had listed low, so they'd definitely sell).
He ended up winning a bid war and getting my guy. So out of all the teams in HT, the same one bought my last 2 mids. (Which looks a bit suspicious, but was obviously legit. And both went for about what I expected they'd go for.)
2. With money incoming, decided to start looking for a trainee to replace the sold guy. I had very specific requirements:
a. PM minimum solid
b. passing minimum solid
c. stamina minimum passable
d. age maximum 20
The idea being to get either a 17 solid to train up, or a 19-20 brilliant+ who I'd train, but can play right away (and cost much more)
Browsed EVERY list (afterall, a 17 solid/solid could be a youth pull), bookmarked a few guys, and saw the one I wanted to target. Realized that the player was on the SAME TEAM that I'm playing in a friendly Wednesday.
What are the chances of looking for a specific player, finding the one guy I want, and him being on the same team as the one I'm playing in a friendly?
Made one bid (he was somewhat overpriced currently; but I'm training stamina twice, so passable stamina's OK. And he's a potential U-20, which I confirmed with the U-20 coach), went to work, came home, and found out he was mine.
So my new trainee will get to have a "farewell match" at his former club on Weds.
Strange stuff (to me anyway).
