Does anyone remember the tv show that was an X-Files spin off with three guys who made there own conspiracy paper/website. The guys were conspirators who often appeared on the X-Files, a short tubby guy, a skinny blonde haired geeky guy, and then the "normal" guy. I seem to remember it being on Fox Sunday's too. I liked the show quite a bit but stopped watching for some reason. It's really bugging me that I can't remember it, and wanted to know what happened to it.

The Lone Gunmen

EDIT: Damn, ardent beat me to it. Good show, though I'd be a little surprised to see every episode come out on DVD, at least after the one where the gun men foil a military conspiracy to fly a plane into the world trade center.

Didn't they all die in the X-files finale?

Yeah, they died in one of the final episodes (but not the final one).

They did all die, and although I believe it was in an episode of the X-Files it was not the finale. They died when they were trapped in a room with the release of a chemical agent that if released on the general population would have caused millions of death. They chose to die rather than open the door and try to escape, even when there would have been a chance to survive, trading their lives for the safety of millions. They were then given a heroes funeral in Arlington National Cemetary. This was towards the end of the series, though the final episode concentrated on the murder trial of Mulder.

Pffft! That sucks...of course, I'm sure they could come back in some way...

It was the 5th to last episode called "Jump The Shark" (despite the show having done so a couple of seasons prior). It had both Yves and Jimmy (yes, James) Bond, the other main characters from The Lone Gunmen spinoff. Also, one of my favorite characters made a return trip, Michael McKean as Morris Fletcher, the man who worked in Area 51.

Unless I'm mistaken the Lone Gunmen spinoff was cancelled after only 5 or 6 episodes.

The Long Gunmen had a hot chick co-star on it, too...

Yeah they put it on the Friday night timeslot of death... same with Millennium.

I thought it had a lot of promise too. :(

Same here. I loved the Tango episode!

Now, let's see if we can list all the shows killed off in the Friday timeslot-of-death. The original casualities were back when the X-Files was on Friday night. The first was Brisco County Jr (argh! yet another funny Bruce Campbell show to bite the dust). I remember Mantis. Then there's the two aforementioned ones (Millenium and Lone Gunmen) that died after the X-Files had moved.

BTW i was in an acting class in LA with the tall skinny blonde haired guy. He's canadian and very nice. He is much like that character in his demeanor and speech patterns....and because of this it makes the character believeable so.
