I just had a personal best happen to me. I have played FOF since the first installment wayback when, and have never had a quarterback that could win me the big game more than a couple of times in a career. I play on the hardest level, and even though I have had a few get 60,000 yards and get in the top three in categories, the most rings I could ever squeeze out of these guys was three.

I have a guy named Gene Ballard in his 14th year, who has a 162-58 (.736) winning percentage, which is a record. But the proof is in the pudding, as he just led me to his 5th ring. I was all puffed up after years and years of waiting for a QB like this. And even better, he didn't do it all in a row, which shows a little character in my opinion.

But then I remembered Brock Sherrif, who won 10 times, and brought me back to earth.

He's no Chris Simms.

I was going to say he looks like he plays soccer in England.

Brock was in FOF2. He couldn't hold a candle to this guy, it's much harder to do in FOF2k4... ;)

He looks a little bit like the Nets new coach. That little guy, whatever his name is.

Gene Ballard is the ghost of Major Applewhite. What he lacks in physical traits, he more than makes up in heart.

Is this what they call the immersion factor? I am defending a mythical football player. Geeze.

I bet Gene liked to jam his mouthpiece into his facemask a lot.

Yeah Darkiller really got me going too... after reading his page I re-registered my copy of FOF2 and was instantly hooked!

After getting frustrated with not having more control over my rosters I ponied up for FOF2004. I would have to give him most of the credit for deciding on FOF2004 instead of TPF.

Ballard still has a few years left in the tank I believe, and he could maybe win some more...he's obviously an all-time great. congratulations on that QB find Senator.

As for Brock, unfortunately he didn't accept my highly lucrative proposal of becoming the Paris Musketeers' "special consultant" for the upcoming season. Happy standing in the Hall of Fame, happy in his life after football.
That's obviously good news for the sake of your Volunteers in the IHOF ;)
