I think if done right it could be a great movie. I know the show hasn't been what it used to be the past 3-4 seasons, but if this pans out and is really funny I think it could breathe some much needed new life into the series.
Also towards the bottom they announce they are making a sequel to Oceans Eleven, with a full returning cast. Woohoo!
Bartender: How's it going in there?
Rusty: Longest hour of my life.
Bartender: What?
Rusty: I'm running away with your wife.
Bartender: Great.

I think the South Park movie set the bar on how to handle something like this. Lets see if Simpsons can rekindle my interest.

While I like the Simpsons I can't see paying $10 bucks for what basically will be a back to back to back episode.

I second that motion.

Well, it's appropriate to bastardize one of my favorite Simpsons quote here:
"Great, write it down and mail it to 5 years ago, when I gave a crap."

Wow. Getting Frank Sinatra to come back for the sequel would be surprising enough, but getting Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr as well is just plain amazing.

I thought Ocean's Elevan was a great movie, but I think the sequal will be terrible...

Judge had a chance to do something great and made something decent. Way to take advantage of the medium, having Beavis say fire.

I can only take beavis and butthead in 15 minute bursts. There was nothing in the movie to change that for me.
A movie prediction.....A complete flop.
Homer will say "shit" and there will be an exposed breast somewhere.
I believe the Family Guy movie was canceld because the show is coming back next year.

Last I read, they were going to finish the movie before the show came back.

I would probably not pay to see it in the theater but I am happy they are making it. Even the subpar Simpsons of the last few years is better than most TV pablum, and good movie comedies can be hard to come by if you don't love "Father Of The Bride IV" or "Porky's XVII" style fare. If there is any chance this pushes some better writing back to the TV show then it's a big wootywootwoot situation for everyone.

I heard they were thinking of letting Bart have sex in the movie (similar to Stewie admitting he's gay in the proposed family guy movie). I'd go see it, but there is really no point... if they couldn't perfect the x-files in a movie, they couldn't do it here.
And I read Catherine Zeta Jones will also be in Ocean's Twelve, so thats a plus.
But, would you go see a "live" action movie of the Simpsons?
Who would play Homer? John Goodman? Jim Belushi?

Worst...idea...ever. I see no way this movie doesn't become the cherry on top of the steaming pile of horse dung they've been producing the past 3-4 years.

Hope they do it :D I don't care if it is great or not, most movies are NOT so i would assume it won't be. I just think they should give it a try, it's a show that has been on forever, needs a little kick in the ass, good or bad. Although i don't think this show will last forever, i didn't think it was ready to go yet......and a movie just seems like an end of the road thing for the Simpsons to me. Oh well, good or bad, i will see it when its made, maybe not in the theater, but i will see it.

Awesome! I may be the only one, but I don't think the last few seasons have been that bad... yes, there have been some bad episodes, but most of the episodes are still really good. Even if it gets terrible reviews, I'll be one of the people seeing it on opening night.:)
