Just posting this so it doesn't get lost in all the other discussions. I created a league using HR's generation utility. This is what I've seen after 2 years. More will come after work and some studying. (1. is season 1, 2. is season 2...) Note: I have turned off inflation to see if that matters.
1.
Pre FA
18 players over 60. (non-kickers)
6 want $10 million at some point.
5 teams have 30+ players on roster.
0 making $10 million.
Post FA
8 players over 60
2 want $10 million at some point.
17 teams have 30+ players
Most cap room is 14 million. (11 million after picks are signed)
Post last FA Round
5 players over 60.
0 want over $10 million.
19 teams have 30+ players, 8 teams have 40+ players, 1 team has 50+ players (27 teams total).
4 teams have $10-11 million cap space, 8 have $8-9, 7 have $5-7, 9 have $1-4, and 4 have $0.
12 teams would lose a 3rd round pick.
4 players over 60 left after training camp.
2.
Pre FA
25 teams have at least $10 million in cap space, of those 4 have $20 million, of those 1 has $30 million. 1 team has no cap space.
29 players rated over 60 (non-kickers)
6 players asking for $10 million at some point
3 teams have 30+ players on their roster.
Post FA
19 players rated over 60.
12 teams have $6-9 million in cap space, 1 has 0, 1 has over $20, 18 have $10-19. After the draft, 5 teams have more than 10 million in cap space.
3 player want more than $10 million at some point.
14 teams have 30 player and 4 more have 40 players.
Post last FA Round
13 players rated over 60.
1 player asking for $10 million at some point.
18 teams have 30 players signed, another 13 have 40 players signed and 1 more have 50 signed.
0 players making $10 million.
1 team (mine, where I have scouts do it all) has over $10 million cap space, 8 have $7-8, 16 have $5-6, 6 have $2-4, and 1 has $0.
9 teams would lose a draft pick.
After camp, no players (non-kickers) rated over 60 are left in FA pool.
Only 1 team (mine) has more than 4 million, and 1 other has above 2.5 million after Training Camp.
So far, I'm not really seeing what I would call an epidemic...
