I train defending and run a 5-4-1. I know that means little offense, but what should my lineup be? I feel my team is underperforming, maybe because I am not utilizing them correctly. Thanx for any help.

Thanks that is what I was looking for, but not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping I was playing someone out of position... Hobbes that is exactly how I play them, except I have started Still (because of Hines' stamina). This friendly though I played Pandey at offensive defender, with the hope that it would boost my midfield, nope. Where is the most glaring need for upgrade? I just purchased Joep Kroekenstoel (starting winger) and was looking at maybe a forward? I need to win my series this year!

you are in dire need of a forward. I'd think you'd wanna get a decent one to help boost your offense.

Also.. i noticed you don't use any special tactics... you may want to attempt to play around with them. Now I am no defense trainer, but I have noticed that some defense trainers use different formations at times and lose training on a player here and there.

A tactic that might be good for you could be AOW. You have a pretty good pickup with that new winger, and a great defensive middie. Just make sure you don't play it every match. You don't want to be too predictable however.

I'd consider using 4-5-1 in league and staying 5-4-1 in friendlies. You lose one trainee but gain an extra inner midfielder or winger (depending on how you play). That'll might give you the extra boost needed to keep supporters happy and signing up. With the one forward formations, you really need good offensive wingers and a really standout forward (formidable+, I'd think).

ok I do not have much time to help right now...but as a defensive trainer myself this is what I would do...go along with what Hobbes- is saying for the players and positions.

I run a 3-5-2 in league games, and lose 2 spots of training...it gives my team the best chance to win, if i were you and wanted to train the most possible defenders I would run the 5-4-1 in both league games and friendlies until 1 player that you are looking to sell pops (preferibly one of the older guys) then I would switch to the 4-5-1, and the 4-4-2. Then after a season of that if you are looking to field a very competitive team I would sell one of trainiees and switch to the 3-5-2. Also with the 5-4-1, you should mess around with the tactics, possibly the Attack on wings, or counter attack, or even pressing.

thanks...i think i am just going to stick with defender training and the 5-4-1 for this year. i am hoping to promote, but my rivals (alterac raiders) might have enough to take me out. it will be a battle though. hopefully i will make some money from my league games/youth pulls and can upgrade my solid forward. i will play AOW and play my wingbacks offensive on occasion, maybe even play my whole team offensive...thanks
