View Full Version : The War On Drugs

How sad is it that so much money and time are spent on the futile "War on Drugs." My profound thought of the day is that Tommy Chong sits in jail while Osama Bin Laden runs free. Good job on catching the real danger to society.

If you know where OBL is, I'm sure you could trade Tommy Chong's freedom for that bit of info. Or maybe they have nothing to do with one another?

I'll be you Osama has smoked quite a few bones...

Umm...as much as I disagree with portions of the war on drugs, to say think that any effort was diverted from finding OBL so we could arrest Tommy Chong is dumb. I guess they start puffing early where you are from. I usually wait until 10 minutes before work.

And what about the sniper in Ohio? Why haven't they caught him yet, when every day people are arrested for stupid stuff like breaking the law.

Tommy Chong is in jail? I thought he was hanging out with the cast of That 70's Show. :)

... stuff like breaking the law.
You damn fascists, how many times do I have to tell you? -- you don't have to obey any law you don't agree with. When will you get that through your head?

Also, since I know you damned Nazi's have such a hard time remembering, I'll also go ahead & tell you again that you @#$%^@$ conservatives are not allowed to modify anys law you don't agree with (even through prescribed means) -- that privilege is reserved for those of us dedicated to sticking it to the man.

Yes, thank God Rosa Parks sat on the back of the bus.

There is a time and a place for breaking unfair rules, and I'm not sure what the preceding post really had to do with this thread.

Fritz-

Quit wasting your time here - there's a Girl Scout thread that needs your attention.

I have seen the thread, but opportunities for merriment, other than those inherent to girl scouts, have not presented themselves.

Did you really just compare Rosa Parks with someone who made their entire career around smoking dope?

And is that really what you meant to do?

I was showing the stupidity of your post in relation to what was being talked about. There was nothing in the thread that necessitated such an irrational post such as yours, and I was pointing out the falacy of your argument. This thread was stupid to begin with, your post not even on the subject made it more so.

Maybe you got lost somewhere along the way? Applied my reply to the wrong post maybe?

My post was a response to Cam's post.

when every day people are arrested for stupid stuff like breaking the law.

I then responded with a sarcastic reply to Cam, which was meant to expand on the point I believe he was making.

Seems pretty straightforward to me.

"Wars on xxxxxx" are generally BS in my opinion. There's been a war on poverty for 40 years, a war on drugs for 30 (costing $40 billion a year), and a war on terrorism since Reagan first declared it in 1981. All of the problems linger and continue get worse, but results don't matter. What matters is that politicians can say on the campaign trail they are "fighting" against something big and should get your vote because they have a unique plan for solving the problem that no one else has been able to solve.

We waste wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much money on the war on drugs. The best way to fight drugs is to legalize them I say.

But isn't that how we want the Fed. Govt. to work? We seem to be glad to give Washington more and more of our money so they can solve all of our problems, with drugs, poverty, education, terrorism, illegal immigration, health, foods, housing, etc. It seems that the trillions of dollars over the years have not gone to make anything better, except to make the bureaucrats, politicians and lobbyists more happy.

You should add the corporations and special interests that receive the trillions of dollars in government spending to the top of your exception list.

The War on Drugs is absurd. Until they curb the demand, there will always be a market. Get rid of one dealer, and there is always another one to step in.

Easy Mac

I'll allow TuPac to annunciate my feelings on the matter

Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me
And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do
But now I'm back with the blacks givin' it back to you
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up, crack you up and pimp slap you up
You gotta learn to hold ya own
they get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone
But tell the cops they can't touch this
I don't trust this when they try to rush I bust this
That's the sound of my tool you say it ain't cool my mama didn't raise no fool
And as long as I stay black I gotta stay strapped & I never get to lay back
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs
some buck that I roughed up way back comin' back after all these years
rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat that's the way it is uhh

That would cover just about everybody, wouldn't it? Every war on X and program and entitlement have monies redistributed to somebody or some entity. I just prefer we keep more of it ourselves.
