I haven't been around much because of a lot of different reasons but many of them boiled to a head this week.
My wife fell on Monday and broker her shoulder. I got the call at work at about 4:30 and she had been taken to the hospital by the time I could get a ride home from work.
She was int eh hospital until 4 PM on Tuesday, being 8 1/2 month pregnant they monitored her and the baby before even checking out her shoulder, that they found was broken.
Yesterday I get home frmo work and she is having contractions. They erre sporadic but close enough to call the doctor. The doctor had us go to the hospital out of precautions, she had preclampsia with our first daughter and had a C-section.
Her contractions became regular and more intense and the doctos ended up deciding to do the section last night. At 11:04 PM, my new daughter Rachel Elizabeth weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz and 20 1/2" long.
Both mother and child are doing fine, except my wife is still having pain from her broken shoulder.
Gotta be going back to see them in a few, just wanted to pass along the news. I'll be back around here a little more regularly once things get a little less hectic (you can take that as a good or bad thing ;), depending on your point of view).
