What are thoughts on the new Nike commercial where Andre Agassi is a baseball player, Lance Armstrong is a boxer, Randy Johnson is a bowler and Brian Urlacher and Michael Vick play hockey?
I thought it was kinda cool. Now, can we get a Vick Avalanche jersey?

Great commercial... and my first comment was "if he weren't eight feet tall, he'd look exactly like a bowler..."

As I stated in another thread somewhere, I'm liking Serena as a beach volleyball player...

I saw a segement on this comercial on ESPNews, or some other ESPN network. (There are so many, it is tough to remember) Well, the most impressive one was Lance Armstrong boxing. I thought it looked the best, along with Serena and the Mike Vick segements. If I remember correctly, the comercial is 90 seconds, which is rare in this day in age.

You can expect that the spot will soon be abbreviated to 30 seconds, rendering it a lot less interesting. I also agree that Armstrong as a boxer was very effective - actually, I think all their choices were effective.

Yeah, the abbreviated one just has Lance Armstrong or clips of Agassi. I think the idea of those is to have wondering WTF, then they show the long one to let you know.

I'm assuming, that the bowler that Randy Johnson was competing against in the commercial, was some NASCAR driver? (The one wearing the shades)

No that was an actual bowler.
Agassi looked like a pimp.

agreed. I brought this up in the "aren't there any original ideas?" (or something similar thread)... and I thought the whole spot was pretty artfully done and interesting. All the players looked completely legitemate in their roles in the ad. It kind of made me wonder for a second whether any or all of those athleters are/were universally atheletically gifted enough to excel in any sport they had focused on.
I wish all commericals were so enjoyable.

I think Randy Johnson bowling might be real.
I mean how hard is to bowl?

Armstrong doesn't have to worry about the pesky low-blows either. . .

It was cool to marvel at the technology the first 2 or 3 times...beyond that I'm not looking forward to seeing it 500 or so more times...

I thought Aggassi was very unbelievable. He is way to skinny to play in today's game. All the other ones looks pretty good. I like watching Serena jump

Sounds like a knock on bowling !!! It's not as easy as you think if your are talking about professional level bowlers.

I wonder about the ease of bowling. I'm a pretty recreational bowler (one league in High School, and Intramurals after that), but I do own my own ball. I average over 170...and in the few times I've watched pro bowling, I've seen guys with averages as low as 210. I don't see how hard it could be to up my average by 40 pins (add a few marks per game) if I were to take bowling seriously.
As for the Nike commercial...I haven't seen a commercial that cool in a long time.

But I can put a spin on the ball just like Johnson did at least two or three times a game. I can always put the spin, and just always does hit to the left of the head pin. The point I could do it, but not as consistently as a pro bowler.
I think it would have been cool seeing someone like josh beckett playing QB for the cowboys.

I thought Aggassi was very unbelievable. He is way to skinny to play in today's game. Imagine if they had used him, but CGI'ed him so that his uppoer body was bigger and his head was oddly large.
