Case in point. One of my strikers has played in almost every league game I've ever played and has never had a bump in experience.

Steve Romano - 66 appearances, 47 in League/Cup, 19 in friendlies.

No, I believe it is that random.

Well maybe not - the two guys on my team that seem to have trouble gaining expereince are the two that I intend to make coaches in the future. Hattrick really dislikes me.

I seem to be having this problem, too. I had a guy with 6 exp jump but a future coach has gone 16.1 while I have others who have gone 29, 27, 21, and 21.

I have someone sitting on 32.6 right now, and saw one of my defenders go past 35 or 36. I'm just hoping my future coach can bump twice within the next 2-3 seasons, although knowing HT he'll probably go up to 50 or 60 both times :(

What do you guys use to figure out the experience points you've waited? I'd be interested to see if Steve has topped 60.

1 point for league match, 2 for cup, 0.1 friendly, 0.2 for international friendly

My original defender who will be turned into a coach someday took about 45 points to pop to inadequate exp.

The guy I want to turn into a coach now has not gained any experience since the end of December (tracking via the coach conversion price).

1 point for league match, 2 for cup, 0.1 friendly, 0.2 for international friendlyOh, I know all that. I was just wodnering if there was an easier way then going through all his competitive matches and figuring out which one was a cup game and which one was a league match

HAM does it automatically.

Ok, just to further the subject. Steve Romano still hasn't popped.

But starting keeper popped to passable experience after my Cup game last night. But he was not mentioned in the match report

from what I read it works like that :

- players in the match report with a significant action get 1 time the points for that kind of matches.
- 1/3 of the players not in the match report receive 3 times the points for that kind of matches.
- rest of the players receive no points.

That was mentionned somewhere by HT-Bjorn I think.

With that system strikers tend to have a regular progression in experience while for other players it's mostly pure random (especially for defenders) and they can pop even faster.

The HT team used 3 as an example. AFAIK, they have not actually disclosed what the number is, only that the players who didn't have a goal/card/injury have a 1 in x chance of getting x times the base experience points.

A key part of the experience analysis for any player, then, is figuring not only their approximate experience points, but also their "guaranteed" experience points which are not subject to a random distribution.

So you WANT your defenders to get cards, so they get xp? Sounds silly.

Would the MVP and LVP mentioned at the end of the match report also receive their 1x bonus?

Bah. Jerome has 8 hattricks and darn near 80 career goals. Just popped to passable xp last night. Darn XP.
