I got promoted into div IV.30. At first glance i thought I would just add a player or two keep with my 3-5-2 training and maybe compete for 4th or 5th place. But now after doing some research I see that I am really going to be out gunned and 6th or 7th place is looking more realistic. My best rating to date has been a 73 and the teams in my new division but up mid 70's all the time and the team demoted from D.3 looks super tuff.

Age is also starting to be a factor with my team. I had too many guys in thier 30's who were not improving in training so I sold them off. Got about 1.3 mil in the bank.

Here is what I am thinking.. I need to make a major overhall to my team so that maybe i can compete with the big boys down the road. Eaither a youth movement, a new trainng plan or new formation..something

Wonder if anyone has any input for me about taking your team to the next level. Was thinking about making this a training year. Buy 6 Middie trainies or 10 def trainies(solid or excellent 17 or 18yr) and train them for the whole season, sell em at the end of the season and try to buy some guys who will help me dominate in my relogated Div V again, maybe make it back to IV in two seasons.

A few bright spots for my team is i have 23 yr brillent Mf, 18 & 22 yr Excell Mid's and 2 solid keepers. I might sell those guy if needed to finance my overhall.

Any advice is appreciated.

join the club.... everyone in my new series is capable of at "LEAST" mid 70's ratings. With 2 teams around 100.

I'd say if you don' count my bot team (thank god for him) our average NSI every week will be in the low 80's. Maybe higher....

I'm not in DIII. This season is going to be great.

I will get torn up in my new DIV series. Looked at the #8 team and saw he has put up outstanding midfield ratings. I cannot come close to competing with that, and he is the #8 seed.

I better win some cup games or I'll lose half my supporters by the end of the season. :(

Please provide more information. What are you currently training? What does the rest of your team look like?

Don't put too much emphasis on NSI ratings...the value of that ratings system has degenerated with the advent of tactics. With smart tactics and smart decision-making, I'll bet you can earn yourself a relegation match at least. All you need is for one other team in your series to screw up, or to quit, and you'd be able to stay in Div. IV.

If you're concerned about making staying up, pick out 5 must win matches. Make sure you win them. 15 points should be good enough to get you a qualifier. Don't save that 5th win for the last week of the season, though, you may need to get your TS up for the qualifier. You don't want to MOTS the week before the qualifier.

I'm looking at finally winning my series, which will mean MOTSing my first game against the team that won the series last season by a single point. Will see how my team looks while PICing the cup match tonight.

If I can win the 3rd game of the season, I should go 13-1 or 14-0. I'll have to see how my team looks today to see whether or not the dream season looks likely.
